I was a vegetarian for several years until I met my ex husband. When my kids are not around I live a vegetarian diet mostly but I do eat eggs, fish, and cheese. My son and his friend who live with us both love meat. I make them cook the meat and I eat some with them lately because I have a healing wound that requires a lot of protein. Once I live on my own again I doubt I will eat meat much if ever. I really do not like the flavor of meat much. I have to cover it with spices. In order to enjoy it.

You know, I might be weird in that I was never that much of a meat fan. I was more of a carb addict. (I personally think a high carb diet is bad for you, but it's more of a temptation for me than meat is.)

I agree that at one point in our evolution we had to eat meat to survive; but I feel like we've evolved beyond that, it's no longer necessary to eat meat, we can get our nutrients elsewhere, so it just seems like needless suffering and death. Plus it's just healthier not to eat meat. I'm a vegetarian, rarely a pescatarian.
