I'm in this situation with my wife and I while there may be men that don't try to understand, I think this statement is pretty damning for men and we shouldn't be classified this way. We've discussed this and while she does not admit to being having lost interest in sex with me, by herself or with others, it's clear to me that it's gone. I understand and put no pressure on her any longer.
This very scenario ruined our sex life for good. Ours was worse because she quit all HRT because someone told her it was bad for her. She suggested handjobs out of pity and I was offended and refused. I ran on hope for a while, had an affair after a psychologist suggested it. She let me play with one or three now and then out of pity for me. I should have left, but her declining health has me here for her. Now, I can still get erections but I don't have the confidence to give it to a woman anymore. Most assume the male is a stud muffin who can rip it into her all night. I need a patient reassuring woman who'll work with me to get my confidence back.
As NubbinsUp suggested, My wife and I read a book called: Better Than I Ever Expected - straight talk about sex after sixty, by Joan Price. In the book there are suggestions on how women can overcome dryness and painful intercourse. It's a fairly quick read and it has given us some things to try to improve her desire to have intercourse again with me. I hope it helps you too! Thanks Nubbins!
Thanks NubbinsUp - we've read the book and are hopeful that some of the suggestions will bring solutions to the dryness and painful intercourse.
It's not just dryness. The tissues atrophy, it's thinned out, painful to stretch, it just doesn't work, no matter how much lube. It's not something that happened overnight, but over, say, a period of ten years or so. She was on a $200 Rx for a long time for it, and it didn't do much at all, really. So, luckily for me she offers other creative solutions and that works quite well - in fact, I've always preferred bjs...keeps me off the roof.
My wife went through that. Interestingly, she'll enjoy my ongue and she climaxes a lot faster than ever before when I go down on her. She won't do any penetration...anywhere. It's rare even to climax her but she'll finish me with a handjob.
Atrophy if not used frequently. As I've read, manual stimulation with lube will help regain some elasticity and reduce pain, but only so much as this does happen with age.
Nah, that is a definite road closed now. Something else we can blame on estrogen...or lack of. She tried a few Rx solutions, a few doctors, but nothing seemed to really do much and little by little, that was that. Not for lack of use, or lack of trying..
