US Congress Approval All Time Low: 13%

    From an outsiders' perspective the whole Republican/Democrat thing you've got going seems a big facade. The country has been doing in the same direction for a long time, and both parties are simply variations of the same goal: towards a more powerful and distanced government, coupled with disempowerment of your citizens.

    Heh...think democratic rule is bad, try consensus rule!

    The only countries where I've seen ongoing high approval rates for the people in power is in totalitarian regimes. I think the Dear Leader, Kim Jung Il has an approval rating somewhere in the 90's. Ahmadinijad's up there too, as is Ghaddafi.

    National leader popularity has an inverse relationship to freedom of speech.
