    Sarah Palin's stupidity literally scares the shit out of me. For a person like that to be in a position of power just boggles the mind.

    mrs wica thinks they don't care about the diplomatic stuff, it's really not anything anyone really cares about

    they need to arrest him before he leaks the corporate stuff

    that's what they're really afraid of . . .

    Ecuador has rescinded its invitation for Assange to live there, unfortunately. The President says the guy who made the invitation didn't have authority and they must explore the diplomatic consequences before issuing such an invite...

    Yes, the corporate stuff should be interesting. Let's see if he'd only released info on corporations, would there be all this big deal and people calling for his assassination?

    Probably not. Just cause it's governments that are being called into question, not corporations, why the big deal? It's the same kind of backhanded, backroom deals going on that are being exposed. Lies being revealed, politicians getting embarrassed, etc.

    I've yet to hear of ONE PERSON being physically harmed due to a wikileak so far...

    The right is just using this as another reason to bash Obama.

    people seem to accept that the government murders people, that diplomats are spies,etc.

    they've all read the tom clancy novel

    the idea that wal-mart paid for it, that they don't seem to have grasped yet . . .

    In other words, a quick threat of no co-operation with the US and its allies ever again, made them re-think this position...

    This must have been on his mind as well;

    I find it really funny reading the comments on the stories that are posted on the various news sites...

    The best one so far, is quite common..
    "He should be tried for treason" from so many americans....

    To the best of my knowledge.. You can't charge an australian for treason against the US... lol

    What isn't funny is that his days are definitely numbered... At least publicly...

    On a totally unrelated subject... I sure could use a computer expert around here... lol

    Even if you ignore the content of what he released (and will release), the comments from a lot of people calling for him to be killed is just about (or at least should be) the most illuminating thing about our so called peaceful systems...

    Elected officials literally calling out for him to be killed or 'disappeared'... Does this not go against every single thing that our so called 'free' countries are supposed to be about?

    Shouldn't that single thing be outweighing everybody's concerns more then absolutely anything else?

    The more I've been digesting all of this, the more that has been pounding through my head....

    edited to add...

    I just posted this on my blog, and thought I might as well share it here;

    The good news is that it isn't just one person involved. Killing or arresting him will achieve nothing, and will definitely prompt outrage and people will question why. There are lots of people involved in this, Wikileaks is just the publisher, an outlet which didn't exist previously which now allows anonymous leaking of information people thought the public needed to know. Those 'other' people are in governments and corporations everywhere, not just a small organization on the receiving end of it all.

    It isn't about whether or not one person being taken out will take down wikileaks.

    Not on the same scale, but by the same principal... would you like it if some politicians quoted one of your posts online and started saying on national television that someone should hunt you down and shoot you for it?

    It isn't about that either. My life is much less important than a potential movement which could change our world for the better. Whether or not I would like being killed is irrelevant.
