That's an idea I can get next to... just think of all the experiences we could share!

Wouldn't you want to share your experiances with the younger generations as well? Are we not good enough to hear them?

'Course your good enough to hear 'em. Like the time I was busted for hitchhiking in Castle Rock, Colorado at the tender age of 16.75, and I fasted for two days 'cause it was humiliating being marched from the jail to a restaurant for meals, and when I got out, I met 2 German hippies, who turned me on to some whizz-bang squeeky-clean Czech acid, and I peaked up on the Continental divide.

But you can't begrudge us old and in the way (find the reference) folks a little time with each other, can ya?

that explains the BB Cafe so well, schlubelberg. And CR still hates freaks (I report in the northern part of that county, including dealing with Doug Co sheriff: the jail's a freaking Hilton now)

but, this part is condenscending: most of these kids of the internet gen can find OAITW quickly ON THIS SITE. Many already know because someone made it their cause to spread info to the clueless or misinformed.

Sure we have the right to hang with our own level of oldfartdom, and that's a pain when you are the gen between 8 to 15 at the Summer of Love and the current cyber hippies.

But I think we have a responsibility to keep the true spirit of Rainbow going, and that means including the kinda clueless of all ages in the work as well as reward.
    Makes it a nicer place.

It's sad to me that there is this us and them mentality between younger rainbows and elders. We are a family, and in my eyes we are all equal whether you've been ging to gatherings for 30 years, or if you're at your first gathering right night. Not all young rainbows are clueless and not all elder rainbows know everything thats going on.

There's nothing "us and them" about it. I LOVE Rainbow gatherings, but I STILL think it would be nice if we could have an "old farts" gathering too (on the side). There's never enough gatherings. The more the merrier. Wondering tho, what's all us "old hippies" to do when we get REALLY OLD and fucked up? My mom's an 89 year old hippy and she's stuck in a nursing home clear on the other side of the US. There's nothing in those places for people like us... Anyone want to start a geriatric hippy home?

Twer not my intention to be condescending, and it completely slipped my mind that anyone can just google OAITW. How's that for a "Duh!" moment?

Anyways, if that BB cafe was there in 1970, that's the one I boycotted. That particular leg of the adventure ended up in Phoenix crashing at a mescaline dealer's house. Lots of free goodies. My first super-spiritual trip, and the one that got me hooked on It's A Beautiful Day.

    Tranquility, Scott

Old age home for Hippies, eh? I believe the folks at The Farm are trying to do something like that. They call their project/community Rocinante. I was going to go over last September for their Farm Weekend to investigate, but events conspired to prevent that journey. Bummer.
