    AHAHAHAHAHHA

Thats all I had to say.

As for the uncles... I saw it on the news and I couldn't stop laughing cuz we were smoking a blunt that looked the EXACT same. I don't think it was right, but I'll bet you some of us would do the same thing... maybe not on camera.

pull your head out of your ass and learn the difference between a word and a person. i hate it when people try so hard to be politicaly correct that thet let someone else decide what words they're allowed to say. do they let you drive with such a narrow field of vision?

Learn the difference between truth and fantasy. This 'word' you speak of has a very deep history and meaning that I don't think you understand. You think that symbol in your signature has nothing to do with slavery or oppression? Read a book kid. Racism is ignorance and the things you've said here prove that ignorance. I'm not being politically correct, nor will I ever be. I say what I mean to say when I speak or type, but I have no use for the word '******' in my vocabulary.

I'm narrow minded because I understand the facts? or because I'm not a racist? Or both? Sorry buddy, but your hood won't fit over my head...

I was raised in a town full of ignorance like this with racially motivated violence and where the schools are voluntarily segregated. The white hicks and the elite sit on one side of the room and everybody else (minorities, other inferiors) gets what's left. It's because of bullshit thinking like this, and kids with mindsets like this grow up to be adults that think this way. Ever heard of Jasper, Tx? That is my home. I've seen the Klan march. I've seen the panthers march. I've seen hatred for no reason other than color. I've seen this ignorance all around me and if there's one thing I can do for you it's to help you extinguish this bullshit mentality. Because I'm pretty fucking sick of seeing it.

It's not a symbol of violence and hatred unless you make it one. To me, it's a symbol of history and hope.

You think the American flag isn't. I think you've got your flags mixed up.

It's a symbol of the st. andrew's cross and rebellion against that...

All I can say is if you don't know your history, you better at least know that General Sherman was not a peaceful man... especially when he set a few of my ancestors on fire in their sleep.

I'm sick of all the twisted history and extremist bullshit. Hollywood is never a good thing to rely on for your history... and as far as I'm concerned, politics isn't, never has been, and never will be correct. They're often just euphemorons (partmonteau euph+oxy), anyway.

You fly the confederate battle flag in the dallas courthouse and you'll hear ignorance cry out at the top of its' lungs, you fly the 1st national and people will pretend it's not even there.

All that says to me is the average person is ignorant, too, and most of them don't know anything about history besides what their textbooks tell them... and that still doesn't change the fact that the union didn't pay freed slaves equal wages as their white counterparts. It was like that on both sides and generally, worse on the union side. Just because you're not black or white doesn't mean your ancestors weren't defending their homes. Most people forget there were native, jewish, black, white, cuban confederates... they were walks of all.

Either way, that still makes me a son of a confederate veteran...

I am qualified to be a member of the "Daughters of the Confederacy", and I grew up in the south before the civil rights movement, so I have some knowledge of what you are trying to say, George. BUT, the rebel flag is not a symbol of southern pride (whatever the hell that is), it is a symbol of white supremacy. And to even talk about confederate pride, to me, is backwards. I know why the war was fought, because the south was trying to succeed from the union. And why?, so that they could maintain slavery and their existing way of life.

    It is wrong.

And this discussion was not about the US Flag. We could start a thread to discuss that if you like. I'm not very happy with our federal government, I hope you're not, too.

it's funny how you still think i'm a racist. have you ever heard the quote "a man should not be juged by the color of his skin, but the actions of his heart"? if you're black and give a fucking 2 year old weed then youre a ******, if you're white and you do it, then you're trash. race was never and issue until you people brought it up. you need to learn to see past color, and look at the actions those people took.

Yeah, it is wrong... to an extent. It's just that people tend to forget there are black/slave cemeteries on Long Island and New York was built by slaves. In fact, only two percent of landowners in the South were even slave owners... What about the people who were just caught in the middle of agression they couldn't control, just defending their homes and places of work? It was Lincoln's excuse to gain control of industries which the northern elite, at the time, did not have any hand on. Nowadays, it doesn't matter anymore because everyone has their hands on everything and the Bush family has been connected to Jersey and Connecticut ever since they immigrated from Germany, so I can't stand people with all of this BS that he's from Texas.

The only place that had more slaves than New York City itself, was Charleston. In fact, New York had been a slave colony ever since the Dutch and their taking of Indonesia... and what did they do then, turn it into a gigantic slave colony. In fact, my great-grandfather was from Amsterdam and my mom was born in Jakarta. My ancestors built New York.

And I do have to feel sorry and have utmost respect for the people who grew up in the South during '64 and all of that (no matter what race you are, just for putting up with all of the stress and rolling with it), though people still had alot of the same feelings in the North, only difference was that you didn't have segregation. Segregation didn't end till '74, here in Virginia. We were the last state to ratify and there are still academies here set up for the white folks who would rather attend private schools... In fact, Al Gore's children went to the one in which my neighbor is the head groundskeeper of.

    ppppffff!
ATL come on man, hahaha I mean your bluegrass is SOMETIMES half decent, if its played for no more than 20 minutes, and ragtime was ok for a few, but southern rap is not even music, in fact, its an embarassment to the genre. Except for Andre, Outkast blows massive shit but sometimes he is ok. Listen to MF Doom (yes he lives in ATL but he is from Brooklyn), or Immortal Technique. Or the WU, or nonphixion, or any of the underground brothers from Philly, man they are amazing! I know, we all have our differances, but Im saying check some shit out :)

    You forgot Lil Jon. :D

Actually, I think the production and whatnot as far as rap/hip-hop goes in the South, is alot better.

My main point is that alot of that stuff and history are still considered exposed wounds to most people... it takes time to heal and if you haven't seen everything between palestine and isreal, sometimes it just never will and you've just got to learn to live with that. It's a neutral subject to me, but my family just happens to be from the Southern Appalachians... and being from where I am, I know way too much about the history for someone to bring this topic up and take advantage of the ignorance within... Creating an accurate book or movie would be so ridiculously complicated or impossible, that you'll probably never see a movie on that subject that isn't biased or skewed, so deal with it.

But Glory was a good movie...

    Glory (1989)

    Based on the letters of Colonel Robert G. Shaw. Shaw was an officer in the Federal Army during the American Civil War who volunteered to lead the first company of black soldiers. Shaw was forced to deal with the prejudices of both the enemy (who had orders to kill commanding officers of blacks), and of his own fellow officers. Written by Murray Chapman {muzzle@cs.uq.oz.au}

As the US Civil War protracts and drains even the vast resources of the north, an experiment is made with black troops, serving in a special regiment under an all-white officer corps. Since the traditional military establishment considers this a bad joke, the young abolitionist idealist Robert Gould Shaw from a very privileged family gets the rank of Colonel with the dubious honor to command the black volunteers, mainly illiterate former slaves. Even his personal friend and second in command, Major Cabot Forbes, lacks confidence in the project; yet they must overcome countless difficulties in training, procurement etcetera before the unit can even enter the War, but end up covering themselves and the Union army with glory -and a sea of blood- against the Confederates.

    Georggiaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

I do wish Ray Charles was alive to do that with them. That would have made for a nice Grammy/memory on the way out. :D
