I listen to the sound of my heartbeart winding in and out of the words coming from people on CSPAN mixed with the gunshots of the city and the huge all-black block parties that seem to occur EVERY DAY at my front door.

Have to admit, Im hatin on Tool yo. Wu Tang is where its at. I love getting lost in the bass line.
Program fat bass lines on innovation. getting drunk like a fuck and duckin five years probabtion.
Somehow, my life has become avoiding LEOs for various reasons, listening to hip hop, raising my son in the ghetto and straight being the opposite of what I am trying, a Krsna Concious, peaceful, loving person. But life is not always what you hope it is.

    hahahaha

I love Wutang...but im more of a rock guy, even if your not a tool fan, you cant deny their innovation and talent. And how their sound can be directly tied in to the psychedelic experience. Alex Grey does their artwork, the guitarist openly talks about his LSD use, the drummer is always raving about DMT, Maynard (lead singer) trips absolute face onstage while they are performing...and if youve ever seen any videos of their live shows you'll know what im talkin about...

Dont get me wrong i love all sorts of music form electronica to triphop, underground hip-hop, grunge, some metal, classic rock...but tool is my favorite musical talent of all time, they are more then a band to me

Meh, I'm not a huge fan of Tool either. My all time favorite bands/artists are definitely King Crimson, Bowie, and Dylan.

I think I had the best trips listening to Hendrix. Especially the album "Are You Experienced". There are so many sounds on this album that are only revealed when having a trip. It's really magical.

I think music with a metaphysical influence is the best. The hardest i ever fryed was while listening to Ambrosia Caprice, (check it out on myspace) and The Fall of Troy (also on myspace). Instrumentals that sound...grand and epic, shit that makes you lose yourself in your mind... [IMG]

I reckon the best songs to trip while on acid are:

    Orion by Metallica
    Mother North by Satyricon
    Stairway to heaven by Pantera
    Die Dead enough by Megadeth
    Foxy Lady by Jimi Hendrix
    Iron Man by Black Sabbath
Come on Baby light my Fire by the Doors
and fucken People = Shit by Slipknot.
I dunno if you agree and if you dont thats your choice, but this is MY personal Opinion.

to be honest i never got the beatles thing at all until i saw yellow submarine on acid... OMFG THAT MOVIE IS FUCKING AMAZING ON ACID!

for those of you that have not seen the yellow submarine is was completely made by the Beatles and its literally MADE TO FUCK WITH PEOPLE ON LSD. lol.. and it does a damn good job.. haha

i never really liked the beatles before then.

    as for other bands..
The Doors (i like to paint on my walls to the doors on acid)
pink floyd (we have animals and dark side of the moon on vinyl)
WEEN! ("happy colored marbles" rocks on LSD! next time ur frying look it up on you tube!)
the Beatles ("doesn't matter what cords i play or what words i say")
    Jefferson airplane
The Cure (pornography, disintegration, kiss me etc)
Apoptygma Berzerk (what ever you can get ur hands on <3)
    infected mushroom (classical mushroom)
shpongle (i personally find them better for mushrooms...)
tones on tail (side project by Daniel ash: lead singer of Bauhaus)
    pendulum
    massive attack
    VNV nation
Nine inch nails (some songs are too much and reznor gets irritating but some are just so industrial-psychedelic... i cant help it :)
gorillaz (haha.. there really good on acid)
mc 900ft jesus (nearly impossable to find on the internet)
    Mr. bungle (Disco Violante)
    Poe
    Space Buddha
    sneaker pimps
    1200 micro grams.. (ha ha!)
    electric universe

my problem with your point is that i love the doors and have since i was a child.. i grew up with them and love them more than ANY OTHER OLD BAND (were talking pre '75) i love there lyrics and musical comp. it has NOTHING to do with them being popular or the lead singer being cool.. to be honest i think jim morrison needed psyciatiric help... to say the least. as for the beatles i never even liked them until i saw yellow submarine on acid... pink floyd reminds me a lot of tool in there musical attitude and in a lot of ways there style and i was always a huge tool fan... my point is that you cant just assume that because people like those bands that they are being closed minded or superficial about music... the bands that were popular with the psychedelic culture in the 60's were popular for a reason, there music not only was meaningful and deep... but it was DESIGNED to trip you out on lsd! they made it for other battery heads... while i love a lot of new music for tripping as well, i always feel like i am connecting with the psychedelic culture of the past when i listen to the doors or floyd on acid... it really hits me in a meaningful place.

    Im a psytrance DJ...

i have to say that spinning psytrance on acid is WAY cooler than listening to it.. OMG.. its the only way for someone to feel as tho they are really one with the music.

if you ever get a chance to watch someone spin psytrance on acid... do it..

    <3

when i first heard infected mushroom on LSD I WAS IN LOVE...

i mean it.. i fell in love with psytrance. there is no techno in the world better to me.

to be honest for me its pink floyd
    obviously
And stuff like red hot chili peppers
Dispite metallica being a metal band, their slow stuff like unforgiven and fade to black are amazing on any psychedelic
Mainly just slow acoustic or indi songs that are musically masterful
I can't comprehend lyrics too well while high anyways but phrases with many possible symbolisms are great
Also some ambient music like tropical rainfall or howls and chirps or waves are amazing
