My least favorite out of the group is Al Di Meola, because he is cheesy (moreso with Return to Forever than this album) as fuck. He shines on the Corea track "Short Tales..." like ridiculous. Even if you don't like Mclaughlin I would suggest you check out the record Shakti w/ Zakir Hussain, if you haven't heard it.. it is like healing medicine for your brain :). Either way its always good to know that people still listen to things other than Pink Floyd and Jimi Hendrix when they are frying.

You have to listen to Underground Hip-hop Like Atmosphere, Dose one, Anticon to name a few. Undergound music is best for acid. If you want to trip out..Listen to some Hardcore - Omar Santana. UK Hardhouse is not as heavy - Lisa Lashes, Lisa Pin-up, BK. I HIGHLY suggest checking these out. If you are into Jazz, its very hip and relaxing. Its also good for putting you into a good mood.

    Damn straight Alchemist :)

And Beatnick, I dont hate the guys music or nothing, but Im not a HUGE fan of jazz guitar. I like it ok, but, I prefer to play it rather than listen to it. I dont know, just doesnt strike that deep chord in me. I like jazz/bluesy/bluegrassy shit like Chet Atkins however

I am a huge pink floyd fan..but it seems so cliche when people listen to the Doors, Jimi and Pink. What ever happened to listening to Greatful dead anyways. Now they are a great band to listen to. Keeps you in a positive state of mind constantly.

One of my favorite classic rock songs is Kansas, Dust in the Wind. Great Folk-Rock in the 70's.

    :D i like that.

i kind of find it annoying when people like to listen to the doors, the beatles, bob marley, pink floyd, jefferson airplane, and so on, when they're high on anything, or list them as their favorite bands. there's a lot more to music than how cool of a person the lead singer is/was, what the lyrics are about, how much cred you get for listening to whatever you listen to. i like listening to music from cartoons, rich-ass producers making music for puppets who can't write or sing, the "lamest" shit that gets overlooked for what it actually is. i'm sure you didn't mean it as deep as i made it but that's how i feel :).

as for acid, i like gorillaz. but i've got a super fetish for anything dangermouse ever did.

Why do you find it annoying that some people consider those popular 60's bands to be their favorite?! Pink Floyd was definitley not about being cool once Syd left, they became totally involved in creating psychedelic landscapes through sound. The Beatles were AMAZING talented song writers and George Harrison was such a beautiful soul. Jefferson Airplane also had a wonderful groove too. The Doors and Bob Marley I dont personally care for, but either way I think you seem to be making an unfair judgement about people who may honestly and purley connect with these bands more so than any others, no matter how much music they are exposed to. Also, to allow others to have the mental power over you to cause you to feel the emotion of annoyance is a little sad, I mean why should you let them bother you Prism? Sorry I dont mean to come down on you, but I've never seen you make a self serving post before, it seems like you are making yourself out to be more 'in tune' with music and therefore smarter than others simply because you dont agree with their personal preferances, and this suprised me coming from such a smart young lady.

    Dudes...
cosmic jokers- strait up, pure psychedelic cosmic rock
the tripiest shit ever because it was improvised on lots of acid by the best musicians in Germany in 1973.

Also when people ask what is good to listen to on acid. the only proper answere is "whatever music you like", "whatever your in the mood for".

yeah, when i wrote it annoys me it didn't feel like exactly what i meant to say, but i didn't know exactly what would've fit better. i guess it just makes me sad that people limit themselves and won't open up to worlds of experiences, for no real reason.

all the music i listed i personally love. i didn't mean to seem like i think i have better musical taste than anyone. but people limit what they'll allow themselves to even judge because of the way other people have judged it.

like, "do you like the backstreet boys?" "no." "why?" "they suck" "have you ever listened to them?" "no, i don't need to, i know they suck"... so how do you know, if you've never given yourself the chance to objectively judge them? a lot of people put a lot of love into a lot of music, and in most cases, they are doing the best they can and are risking a lot to put themselves out there for people to hear. and it's not just the singers. there are so many hardworking people involved. and maybe the stereotypical "acid songs" by "acid bands" resonate beautifully with a person, but... sometimes it becomes a status symbol. like if you like certain music, you come off as understanding something that other people don't. if your friends are over and you put on the doors, you're cool. if they come over and you put on the backstreet boys, you're lame. but it's just sound vibrations.

i'm sorry if i sound judgmental. i've just started reading a few books about music production, and it's making music much more alive for me, and i have a completely different appreciation for it now that i know how many layers there are to it.
