SNP have said they are willing to form a progressive alliance with Labour and the Lib Dems (and presumably the Greens) in the event of a hung parliament. That's only useful IF there's a hung parliament though! If the tories scrape in again then there will be no alliance, it will just be the tories again, for another 5 years. They need to form an alliance now. Disappointed in this though- She's got to say that though or else she risks losing support from the pro-indy supporters, which would never happen anyway because the SNP is Scotland's only hope of that ever happening. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2017/may/28/nicola-sturgeon-snp-support-progressive-alliance-in-hung-parliament
For all the in-fighting there seems to be within the Labour ranks - the u-turns, (financial) disclosures and overseas dis-harmony, the % gap narrowing there seems more than a degree of concern amid the Empire
The Nasty Party. Committing electoral fraud since 1951. Interesting observation of the records from the House of Commons Library by Wings Over Scotland, where 19 tory seats appear to have been magicked out of thin air to swing the result in favour of the tories instead of Labour, who seem to have lost 18 seats in the calculation! https://wingsoverscotland.com/sub-topical-analysis/
Meantime she's still hiding from any public debate with Jeremy Corbyn. What's she scared of? That she'll expose herself as the inept and obnoxious frump she is? That people will see that Corbyn is a much nicer person than she is with much better ideas and plans? Scared to have to defend her party's abysmal record on the NHS, schools, the environment, the economy? Or what? It's a bit rich when she says Corbyn would be 'naked' in Brexit talks when she's clearly afraid that in a TV debate, she'd be the naked one. Naked lies. Afraid to put her cards on the table because she really has a very weak hand? Contempt for the public and for democracy. That's what it smacks of. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2017/may/31/jeremy-corbyn-urges-theresa-may-debate-with-him-in-public
I think she is listening to the people that say, this American slag your opponent off is pathetic tbh.. it's not going to win her points, but I think she likes the sound of her own voice. Your not listening to her, if others are around. Don't like her, or anything about her, typical Tory..
Yet that's exactly what she does in Parliament every time there's PM's questions. Of course in a TV debate she wouldn't have the rest of the jeering crowd of idiots behind her. But can we trust a so called leader who won't face up to one man alone? Afraid to engage in debate? When Cameron got in, he said we'd have an end to 'yah-booh' politics. But that's still the way they play it. Now she's hiding behind cover and slagging Corbyn off from there.
Talk about the pick of a bad bunch. Theresa May has proven she is anything but strong and stable, basically breaking a manifesto pledge (social care U turn) before even winning the election. She suffered mass hubris and assumed that the old guard would support here, but frankly, she has veered to far to the left with many of her social changes, but basically made the middle class pay for it. To this end, this is not attractive to the luvy labour. I must point out labour is facinating. Brexit has caused a clear split in the country. Those north of England, traditionally labour, voted UKIP last time and have veered toward the Conservatives to see the job done. Ironically, Labour is not at an all time high is places like London, my home of Cardiff. I know my area, and I can assure you that, whilst no ones life is hard, the Labour support in my precise location is high, yet frankly, living conditions are voted some of the best in the U.K. I can only infer that those voting labour are doing so idealogically, and this seems to be proved by the connection J.C has made with the younger vote. Personally, I find it hard to engage with the idea that J.C should or could be Prime Minister. Older voters have rejected socialism for a reason. Funny that we say to respect our elders, unless of course they disagree with you. Then they are old and senile. But moreover, taxing the very rich? They are taxed, objectively speaking, a lot. What motivation is left to do any work is everything is free? Free University fares? Fantastic. But no one will want to strive to reach those high paid academic jobs. I understand this is quote hypothetical but the point is is not really what I would call good motivation for hard graft. But what about our society, our economy, more generally. I hate t break it to everyone. But capitalism is the system will chose. We want everything cheaply, and in order to deliver this, capitalism is no less a ideology inasmuch as a our chosen path. Considering this as our framework, what good would mass socialism achieve?? Case in point, we will tax business owners a bit more says Labour. Now, I think they have forgotten that many of those who own a business will tell you that they are not millionaires, in fact, they are actually just making it. Owning a business is tough, and requires great personal effort and mentality that is willing to withstand considerable risk. They call SME owners the lifeblood of the U.K economy, so why are they being punished? Sounds like the politics of not only envy, but disregard. But if we must consider envy, what of the effect capitalism would have? Well, needless to say by taxing those business owners through increases in Corporation Tax and the likes, this will require restructuring of a businesses operations. Liquidity Restraints anyone? So perhaps a reduction in pay for employees in the short term? Better still, unemployment in the long term? Sounds great, just sign up for the benefits system. Will add it to the Tax bill. What a bitter and twist cycle we would have. Or of course they could just increase price. I'm sure they will just blame brexit either way. I'm not even going to touch of the security record, but let's just say. On record, the J.C has lied as much as any Tory and continues to do so. The idea of a Labour government does not frighten me. Personally, I believe in centralist (maybe slightly right wing views). However, the idea of a J.C Labour government actually makes me feel a little unwell. Common sense has all but gone.
And wage growth would depend on a number of factors. Most obviously, the economics of people. Supply and Demand. I saw a chart on the last page that refers to our wage growth being low, yet rates Poland as the country with the greatest increase. Inflation is about relative between countries, so you could argue it is not demand, but supply. Again quite objectively. Therefore highly likely due to the numbers of people applying for work in the U.K, and numerous low paid jobs being taken on otherwise suppressing the data. But then again, could live in Poland. I hear its lovely
The IRA, basically. By not acknowledging it repeatedly in interviews even as recent as this week gone it is quite clear he doesn't at least want to tell the truth at this point
What is the truth about the IRA he didn't acknowledge? Not acknowledging something isn't really the same as lying about it.
Reference Andrew Neil Interview. But I shouldn't have called him a liar, only he knows. Neither your or I know the truth. But the evidence does stack up for indeed great scrutiny. On the matter, constantly referring to wanting peace is B.S. Isis would suggest what they are doing is for peace as according to their own perception of what peace looks like. So his response is still extremely vague.
Every single word out of his mouth is a lie he just says what people want to hear ! the Shit will really hit the fan when it all has to be paid for I reckon Labour has gone from being for the working class to , For the dole and benefits Class
Och away n' bile yer heids. I saw a bit of that interview with Andrew Marr and all he is saying it's better to negotiate with terrorists than retaliate with more bombs on their heads. I get that some of these "ISIS" nutjobs as they're now called are beyond negotiation, but that doesn't mean to say we shouldn't try that approach before sending the military out to destroy entire countries. When we invaded Iraq, Saddam Hussein was negotiating with the UN, and the the largely Blairite Labour led government who voted to go to war was warned that it would only breed more terrorism. Would Jeremy Corbyn have sucked up to George W Bush like Tony Blair did? I'm pretty sure Theresa May would have, I hope she doesn't get another five years in power, the woman is clearly a bit mentally unstable.
