Good morning, jepp, they are the worse speakers . IIRC it is written in our constitution that Germany goes out of existence if we ship parts of Bavaria over to Austria . Regards Gyro
Hello, jepp. He tried to escape the austrian military service and lived several years as a stateless person in Germany. He made several attemps to gain the German citizenship over the years. Short before the 1932 elections he had success, more a less with a trick. Regards Gyro
nice. Using my screenname in a sublimal message. Anyway, we are all one, evrybody. I am much obliged to say that i am not here, and appreciate you knowing that i'm here. Prejudice sucks cock for quarters... But that shit skates. (Thumbs down to opinions of humans as superfiacially disparate on the basis of race, ethnicity, nationality, sexuality, gender, etc.)
ASK ME ABOUT AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! or only New England, we're the only cool part of America.
Hello, OK, since this thread is about prejudices, over here we think people from New England are often bragging with the coolness of their area . Regards Gyro
people always think americans are gun happy, ignorant fucks who don't care about anything except what they can buy, see on t.v. and be seen doing excluding the gun thing that's true. only some of us are gun happy, and that's because it's really quite fun to empty a 100 round clip into some targets. it's more fun to squeeze 100 rounds, one at a time, out of a bolt action rifle, down range, and know that the only deviations from center are the guns and environmental.
Guten Morgen, das ist fein. Mitunter scheint Dir eine gewisse Spitzzuengigkeit innezuwohnen. Das gefaellt . Well, I can't remember any prejudices against that people. In one way that is sad, because it doesn't mean that my second name is political correctness, it means that I know nearly nothing about the customs and feelings of the people in the states that once formed Yugoslawia. In the early nineties of the last century I worked with a guy from Bosnia. One day he just disappeared. His relatives phoned me and the other coworkers to find some information, but nothing. We have never heard from that guy again. I can only assume that he more or less switched his mind over night and wanted to get involved in the things that happend in that time in that area... Regards Gyro
Hello, Jepp, that describes the image of the US people in the world pretty good. But that is not a problem. The problem is that we tend to say 'the Americans', but having this former president and some other people in mind and you might say 'the Europeans' or 'the Germans', but having only some individuals in mind, too. It's astonishing how this changed over two decades. As a child I lived near a US American garrison. I would not say that we loved the soldiers, but we liked and respected them, some became friends with German people. And then in the beginning of the 21. century the things started to go south. Sometimes I think that the difference between you and us is as huge as the difference between us and the Asian people. Recently I had an informal meeting with a guy from an US company. I said something about the things I dealt with and he said something like 'Ah, great. We should start a project, bla bla la'. Now the German guy typically starts planning the project. But for the US American guy it's only some sort of small talk. You can be glad if he dimly remembers the topic at the next meeting . Regards Gyro
which is why i bow out of "serious" conversations. all they do is babble on and do nothing. so i babble about nothing instead.
Hello, I was speaking with tongue in cheek when I started this thread. Even if we discussed only a few nationalities yet and some postings are more serious than others I find this thread interesting. Some prejudices are at little bit true, some are just nonsense and pointing out differences between people isn't judging per se. You are right, KC, you and me can't change the world, even if we want. But we can try to understand why others act the way they do or as a last resort we can store up some trivia knowledge . Regards Gyro
you misunderstand, i'm totally on board with this thread and mocking people and stereotypes. it's all those pompous pricks who pretend they give a shit when all they do is talk talk talk that bug me. and yeah, some pompous pricks actually do something, so i bow out of their way with a degree of respect.
Well yes, we are in fact the coolest area of the US. We have among the oldest history, biggest and best cities(NYC and Boston, and are old cities actually have old world charm to them, vs being a grid of streets that sprawls out forever), and are the most liberal part of the country. Also we are in fact very gun happy even here
