Wal-mart doesnt sound like a bad idea lol, if he was into computers i'd go try and custom build one for cheap.. but to be honest, i bet all it will be used for is the occasional email, facebook, googling things he needs to know, and maybe youtube although he doesnt quite know what youtube is yet lol

I'm debating this or a ps3... I know he wants both, he's been stuck with the old ps2 for a good 10-11 years now lol.. My only concern with the ps3 is the ps4 will be out within the next year or two.. which means ps3 games/controlers/everything will stop being sold within the next 5 or so years im sure.. not a huge deal, but still..

My mom's husband when they met he never had anything to do with computers. He didn't even know how to turn one on. Then he broke down and bought a bad ass laptop computer and that computer is like his life. When hes not working and stuff hes on his computer playing games and doing all kinds of stuff.

 

thats like my uncle , never used to like new things untill he got a pc now he is all into it builds his own and pawns it on family members thats how i got this pc even through its out dated shit i didnt have to pay a dime for this

lol you never know... but I do have a limited budget and can't entirely afford to buy a high end expensive computer, seeing as how I have many other gifts to buy, and I'm sure he also wouldnt want me spending so much on him, so I'm unsure if it's worth it to get a 200-300 computer? hm

anyway thinking of going back to school not sure for what yet but i figure hell i'm getting to the age of 30 which is 5or 6 more years and i still dont have a career

speaking of school... apparently i'm not going to university this year, waited a little to long and now it's to late to book an appointment and i have to much upgrading to do..

I'm going to this little 'community college' type place instead, and it's completely free for me because of my age, i just need to pay for the books.. I'm going to get all of my upgrading done there for free, then go to university next september im hoping..

I need to upgrade my english, history, and geography courses from highschool in order to get into most (excluding the math and science related) programs.. so i have an entire semester at that school, to think about what i want to do in university..

I feel like i should take math 12 as well, that way i can get into anything i want.. since i never even did in highschool.. but i'm the worst at math, i've probably failed at least 3 math courses throughout highschool

my computer is a $350 wal-mart special, it sucks but it does do all the basic things, its hard not to recommend it to someone thats just going on the internet. best buy used to be decent although when i was shopping for this pc i noticed they cut their stock down quite a bit, for what your looking for i would say dont bother there but its not as bad an option as some on this forum would leave you to believe, depending on what you are looking for. newegg and tiger are great sites to compare prices. and dont purchase without seeing what amazon and any good sellers on ebay have to offer.

 

i had a college math class that was awesome (never completed, my family funding fell through) it made me thing about the "why? " of math. i enjoyed it, and i was never a big math kid in school. i passed. did better in geometry than most other things, decent at algebra. if it were me, id take it, then you wont be caught wanting when you decide what you want to do.

 

he'll be right fine in his moms house for at least a decade....and then
off and on for another decade
