i didnt like how that one doctor was saying it connects to the same opiod receptors in the brain as heroin, cause it doesnt. the standard opiates/opioids that people use connect with mu-opioid receptors. salvia connects with kappa-opiod receptors. there is a difference between them, and they should have stated that. they totally just wanted to rip all over salvia, that aint right. i pray to the salvia god that they dont make her illegal. she's one of my favorite entities.
In my opinion, those whom showed up at that tv show that talked positive about salvia made a fool out of themselves.
True. Check the Salvia sub-forum. I have stickied the thread. And for the record I think Frank did a good job on the show. Considering the situation he was in, he did as well as anyone could have hoped for. My heart goes out to his family.
Frank did an excellent job. So did the college student beside him. Even the third guy was more coherent and intelligent than the producer/hosts had been hoping he'd be. Despite the blatantly-slanted, biased angle of this horrible, horrible program, I think many moderate viewers would consider the presented arguments for responsible, legal salvia divinorum use very valid and intelligent. I particularly enjoyed the part where the pinhead co-host asked what medical knowledge he has and Frank calmly answered that he's a graduate student of pharmacology. It could only have been improved by Frank adding, "and yourself?" The nerd who kept bleating about opioid receptors like it was some sort of golden key to his inane argument was very irritating. I half-expected him to suddenly look into the camera and say "and opioid is a derivative of the word opiate which is itself based on the word opium - and heroin is made from the opium poppy. So salvia is basically heroin! Your children are using HEROIN!!!" and then his head would explode. Well, "half-expected" isn't the right way to put it. "Fantasized" is a better fit. The young guy answers the question about whether it's a good idea to have a sitter because it's fun with "Yeah, - " and there's an obvious edit. I think this is because he says something along the lines of "but also because it's safer". The reason I think this is because it's obvious there's a cut and a minute later, the host says "you all say you need a buddy with you while your on salvia" in reference to something we haven't heard. They cut this because they did NOT want that guy (ESPECIALLY that guy) sounding responsible. Peacelove, Aldousage
I thought frank and the collage student did well, as well as they could in the situation. When you go on those shows you are set up the have a planned part for you to play and they control it so you fit that part. They have people in the audience that get everyone to clap when the time is right and cut people off when they are making points against the set program. The show wanted it to seen like Salvias bad and your kids will get it and use it. Just another narrow-minded brainwashing show. The guy that owned the rehab was so annoying...! I can’t believe they got people to clap for him. Reminds me why I don’t watch T.V.
I can't even explain how mad that show made me. Every single time any Salvia defender would come up with a clear point, they were cut off. About 95% of the things the hosts and offenders said were unable to be argued with because if they were, they would just move on to the next point. That was so one sided. I could go on forever, but there's no need to, I know everyone here feels the same way I do about this show. Ridiculous.
seen this topic kinda late, is kalizhada, the one who attended the show fine after that car accident? I couldn't find the topic related to it. I hope he is. shine on.
I think he is OK. Although I don't think we see him around anymore. It's quite posible that his priorities have changed, or that he's unable to enjoy Salvia any longer. *I'm guessing.
I haven't done salvia but this show is just pathetic. The topic they are attacking on a show like that will NEVER win. No matter how smart the person speaking for it is. Do you honestly think intelligent people watch these sort of shows? Only the simple minded do.
I dont like to be so negative, but from what you guys have been saying unfortunatly eagle seems to have been correct. Not unfortunatly because i dont like eagle, but unfortunate because of the negative impact it will have towards keeping salvia legal.
bullshit. i remember the guy that got hit by the mortorcycle (i think it was) and he did come back and post shit. http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?t=302962 so, i think you should lay off the morning glories or whatever it is you like to get down on ancient powers. i read your posts. anyways, this show happened so long ago now, and i can still buy salvia where i live. it did nothing.
The thing about salvia, or any drug videos, is if it's being showed to someone who has never done the drug then THERE IS NO WAY IT'S NOT GOING TO LOOK SCARY. Even having done salvia before, watching videos of high kids disturbs me greatly. There's nothing more frightening than seeing someone gibbering away senselessly, staring into space, shaking, drooling, laughing, stumbling and hallucinating, even if later that person describes the experience from their side to you.
