Now the regressive left sees this symbol of religious zealotry a form of female empowerment. How troubling.....

 

I fail to see the irony in the two phenomena. The 1979 Iranian women's protest was an example of extraordinary courage in risking being subjected to violence for failing to conform to the accepted dress code. What's really at stake is that the Iranian government was forcing them to conform. You are equivocating between protesting an act of government oppression in Iran and a display of solidarity for Muslims being targeted for discrimination in the U.S. by Islamophobic hate groups like Robert Spencer's (Not to be confused with Richard Spencer who's a bigot of a similar stripe) .Muslim women who wear the hijab in this country do so because they choose to, not because the government makes them do it. Actually, the two protest movements are consistent, not contradictory or ironic--resistance to government oppression in Iran by not wearing the chador, resistance to anti-Muslim discrimination in the U.S. by wearing or depicting the hijab in sympathy with Muslim women. Your suggestion that the picture accompanying "We the People are Greater Than Fear" is "cultural appropriation" is ludicrous--intellectually shabby propaganda at its worst! I'll give you the benefit of the doubt in assuming it came from jihadwatch or some similar source. You might read a book on informal logic to learn how to detect logical fallacies on those AltRight sites you get your information from!

It is not truly a choice, it is suppose to be a choice but in a man dominated culture the choice is made for them. Any time you see a child in a hijab, you know the choice was never theirs. The choice is to be made after puberty. What girl at 13 in North America wants to cover her hair? Any time you see a child wearing it you know it is not a choice, it is to show their devotion to god and their modesty. The quran does not demand it anywhere... it is something that was enforced on them to begin with and now they have simply accepted it. Believe this is what god wants, or sorry... Allah wants. but hey if you are on your period you have to get to the back and can not prey, because you are devoted, cover yourself but are a dirty female who should feel like you are less than everyone. Segregated mosques where women must hide their hair and hide themselves.

Another thing, the purpose is for modesty and to not draw attention to yourself, when in fact it draws attention to yourself in a western society.

Women had to cover themselves.,.Neither the queen of the woman from Iran who made the documentary cover their hair today.

I was trying to get us back on the topic of Trump protest slogans but I had the opposite effect. Shit.

 

The way how you try to portray a whole political wing as ridicilous is what is troubling. Well, if it is done from sincerity that is. The bad argumentation and tenacity you are doing it with makes it seem it is mainly coming from frustration and some misguided dislike. In regards to your above effort about the hijab: Okiefreak worded it good

Even if let's say 5% of the american population would wear a hijbab (out of free will, and because they happen to see more use in it than you. You may never understand why they wear one, which is ok if you deal with that lack of understanding in a reasonable way) there stil doesn't have to be any negative impact on your culture or society. Unless of course people are making an unneccesary and extreme issue of it because... uhm maybe such people should explain themselves why it twists their panties so strangely.

You know what is funny? I am not even pro trump, not pro Hilary and not pro obama either when he was running. I am Canadian and no good for me to vote on anyways. He is what you have. Small hand is a sexist statement
Calling someone racist simply because of who the vote for is racist

Everyone is the enemy of a Trump voter. It's a sad phenomenon. You will never convince them that their fellow Americans are not plotting with terrorists. Only what comes out of Trump's mouth can be believed. He's the hero here to save us. They live in a world where feelings over ride fact. If I feel something then it's true.

 

He's Joe Blow's twin--the one from Gibsland, Louisiana, as opposed to the one from Kokomo. Much smarter than his brother, who seems to have voted for Trump.

 

He is also the guy who accused people of subconscious racism simply because no one sat next to him on the pricey Acela train, which was not even full.
