You poisoned my sweet water You cut down my green trees The food you fed my children Was the cause of their disease My world is slowly falling down And the airs not good to breathe And those of us who care enough We have to do something Oh what you gonna do about me Oh what you gonna do about me Your newspapers they just put you on They never tell you the whole story They just put your young ideas down I was wondering could this be the end Of your pride and glory Oh what you gonna do about me Oh what you gonna do about me I work in your factory I study in your schools I fill your penitentiaries And your military too And I feel the future trembling As the word is passed around "If you stand up for what you do believe Be prepared to be shot down." Oh what you gonna do about me Oh what you gonna do about me And I feel like a stranger In the land where I was born And I live like an outlaw And I'm always on the run And I'm always getting busted And I got to take a stand I believe the revolution must be mighty close at hand Oh what you gonna do about me Oh what you gonna do about me I smoke marijuana But I can't get behind your wars And most of what I do believe Is against most of your laws I'm a fugitive from injustice But I'm going to be free Cause your rules and regulations They don't do the thing for me Oh what you gonna do about me Oh what you gonna do about me And I feel like a stranger In the land where I was born And I live just like an outlaw And I'm always on the run And though you may be stronger now My time will come around You keep adding to my numbers As you shoot my people down Oh what you gonna do about me Oh what you gonna do about me I won't go What about me now I ain't looking for no trouble

Bob Dylan was a popular hippie favourite singer in those days. We thought he knew all saw all and was all. But we were all in a big cloud of smoke anyway. To this day I still like him. He was so against the "norm" back then. Bobby you are still my hero!
Get Together-Young bloods-/Scott McKenzie If You go to San Francisco/I also liked Eric Burdon singing about warm San Francisco nights and maybe - Down In Monterey-all good songs of the time-

Camarillo Brillo She had that Camarillo brillo Flamin' out along her head, I mean her Mendocino bean-o By where some bugs had made it red She ruled the Toads of the Short Forest And every newt in Idaho And every cricket who had chorused By the bush in Buffalo She said she was a Magic Mama And she could throw a mean Tarot And carried on without a comma That she was someone I should know She had a snake for a pet And an amulet And she was breeding a dwarf But she wasn't done yet She had gray-green skin A doll with a pin I told her she was awright But I couldn't come in (I couldn't come in right then . . . ) And so she wandered through the door-way Just like a shadow from the tomb She said her stereo was four-way An' I'd just love it in her room Well, I was born to have adventure So I just followed up the steps Right past her fuming incense stencher To where she hung her castanets She stripped away her rancid poncho An' laid out naked by the door We did it till we were un-concho An' it was useless any more She had a snake for a pet And an amulet And she was breeding a dwarf But she wasn't done yet She had gray-green skin A doll with a pin I told her she was awright But I couldn't come in (actually, I was very busy then) And so she wandered through the door-way Just like a shadow from the tomb She said her stereo was four-way An' I'd just love it in her room Well, I was born to have adventure So I just followed up the steps Right past her fuming incense stencher To where she hung her castanets She said she was a Magic Mama And she could throw a mean Tarot And carried on without a comma That she was someone I should know (Is that a real poncho . . . I mean Is that a Mexican poncho or is that a Sears poncho? Hmmm . . . no foolin' . . . )
-----Ibelieve that was their Ist album-and the best because there was no David Clayton Thomas to mess it up-kinda like when Quicksilver went with Dino Valenti-bad choice-lousy singer-

When patterns are broken, new worlds can emerge' -- Tuli Kupferberg, as quoted in _Reader's Digest_ (4/87) I don't know what was more of a sign that the 60s were over... Lawrence Welk owning the Country Joe and the Fish catalog (Welk Music Group bought Vanguard) or one of the Fugs being quoted in _Reader's Digest_... "Dirty Old Man" (E. Sanders - L.
