Tropical winter Grow

Hi all, I hope as always you are all doing OK. Nice going Mr. Highland I could only dream of doing what you're doing. I don't have the room or anyone to help me build something. My Mother plant doesn't have A proper place, it just hangs out in a corner of the Garage with it's light. So I'm lucky to just have cuttings. Good luck on your grows.
As far as I go I'm 3 weeks into 12/12 I went into my box and trimmed away all the dead fan leaves and cleared the front of the A/C. I should swap out that A/C so I can get a few more inches in that box. We have had very cold weather here, it went to 35F which is cold. The A/C Froze over and I almost lost it which would have ruined this grow. (Never count your buds until the fat lady sings). I'm also noticing that sometimes the Autovalves don't close and I have a mess to clean up. Check out the Buds, all I see is nice white little flowers. That's it. Be well!

 

Very nice cd was gonna say its looking like pruning time to me. What ya need to do is remove the go nowhere branches and buds from the bottom and then start to prune the top leafs so more light can get down into the plant. This will give more energy to the going places bud and the extra light getting into the plant will trigger new bud growth all down the stems. Well worth checkin out a guide on how to prune to get the best yield.
Not to mention costing you plant food when that happens maybe the valves need a clean or there freezing too?.

 

Hi All, I've been going into my box and like a good farmer I remove stuff on a daily basis. I've altered my Nuits. After introducing Big-Bud Powder to my Nuits a week ago, I used 20 Grams of Big-Bud along with my Base and 25% of my Bloom nuits. Using 20 grams in 10 gallons gives me a PPM of 325 as the manufacturer suggest. Although I can’t be 100% sure I’m almost positive this grow is doing better than the first one. My plants seem to be happy, I wish I could take better pics. Funny thing, after 3 weeks into 12/12 no odor, I had the windows closed for 3 days and nights and the only thing that smells is the Nuits.

Hi all,
I worry a lot and I'm concerned about my Nuits, I've included 300PPM or 10 grams per 5 gallons of Big-Bud Powder to my nuits. I cut back on my Bloom Nuit 75% so I still get around 900 total PPM I hope I'm using this stuff correctly, I don't want to burn up my plants and I've never used this before. As you can see my A/C is now visable, I cleaned out all the junk up to 2 feet.
Over the weekend I took 15 cuttings from my Mother plant. I have them in a propergation chamber under 2 low power floresent grow lights. I figure I have 4 weeks to go until harvest and I want to get one more grow before the summer.

Hi All,
Here is my post for today, nothing new my plants are looking fine. Around this time on my first grow I ran into problems. I was either building up to much salt or my PH was off because my Gals didn't look to good. I flushed everything out and continued. Due to the diff between the PH drop on this grow and what I thought the PH was on the last grow I'm convinced my PH was off on my first grow. I have a good Hanna PH tester and I notice to get a good reading it has to hang out for a while. I have 2 Milwakee backups. The PPM tester is way faster, I also have redundency there. So here are my pics for today.

Thanks for the kudos. I'm just an old man with nothing much to do, you know this is only my second grow and the more I learn the more I need to know. If I don't have 100 grams around it's time to get more. I LOVE getting over on the man and the dealers. The only problem is that it's a secret and I have to listen to people tell me it's from "Canada" or whatever. I find this a full time job, I have to be around because if a breaker goes, I could lose my grow. I'm using over 25 amps which is a lot of electric. I couldn't do this without you guys so all I have to say is thanks. Now my 28 year old kid wants in, he wants me to teach him. I'm not going to help him because he lives in an APT with neighbors, the last thing I need to do is travel 1500 miles to bail him out of jail so I'll just give it to him. The first picture is My mother plant, it's been around since the summer with no proper place and just that light.

Hi All,
Today my Gals have been flowering for 28 full days and nights. I got some nice looking Mini Buds already 6" in length and more popping up. I figure 4 weeks maybe 5 and it's time to harvest. I normally don't post pictures every day but my garden is so Beautiful I want all to see!!!!

Hi All, Here is my post for today, I know I'm redundant but WTF. I keep the Temp in my grow room at 75F during the day it goes gown a bit at night. The humidity is always low due to the A/C, I try to keep the Fluids cold at 60F in the reservoir with plenty of air rocks. I've modified the Valves by adding an air rock to each one and it seems to be working. I'm still waiting for the Big Bud liquid so I'm using the powder and mixing it at 20 grams to 10 gallons of distilled water plus my other Nuits and additives keeping the PPM under 1000 and the PH as close to 6 as I can keep it. Still no odor in my garage!!!!

Hi All, Happy Feb to you all. Notice the pic of my clones, until I used Clonex I couldn't get a cutting to take for shit. Now after 7 days it looks like I have 15 clones from 15 cuttings. On two occations I was unable to get a seed to come up so I could try a different strain. I hate seeds now. I have some more pics so here they are, I'm noticing a slight burning of the tips on the fan leaves, I cut back a bit on the nuits.

Hello to All,
Here I am 32 days into flowering and I noticed a burning on the edge of the fan leaves. On my first grow I had proplems around day 35 and flushing my medium with PH balanced distilled helped so I figured it couldn't hurt this time. On this leaching I used a shop vac to suck up the used water and it worked way better than a turkey baster. I figure I've done all I can at this point. I'm planing to harvest in 3 to 4 weeks if all goes well. Have a good one, here are some pics.

Looking good. Yeah, it does seem like a shop vac would be a bit easier than a turkey baster. Good luck on the grow

 

Hi all,
I've been having problems with leaks, I have a valve that gets stuck and I wind up with a flood, I've ordered a new one. I've removed go noplace leaves from the bottom. I've been bending fan leaves and removing them so I can get light where it's needed. It's getting late in my grow, I'm at 35 days into flowering, next week I'm going to start feeding it straight water. Have a good day to all.

Hi People,
Sunday is a day I normally take pictures of my plants so I figured post it. Here is my grow, I'm now into week 6 my fan leaves are starting to turn under, I still have burning on the tips although it still looks better than the last grow. The plants by the A/C are stunted, the thing is using up to much space and I want to replace it with one I can mount further back for my next go round. I've learned a lot on this grow and I want to get one more in before the summer. It's going to be interesting to see how much weight I'm going to pull out of this grow. Ok have a good day to all.

Hi All,
Here I am with almost 6 weeks into flowering and I want to finish so I can get one more grow in this season but the Trichomes tell me to wait a while. I know prior to harvest I want to feed them plain distilled water with a PH of 6 for a week. On my last/First grow I fucked up and didn't dry or cure correctly at first it was great all I did was put a fan on the buds for 3 days then I put it all into a plastic bag when it was moist and eventually it smelled like cat piss. Not this time, I learned (I hope) you can't rush it. I've heard about using dry ice to dry out pot but I can't find any links. Here are a few recent pictures.

Sounds like it could of picked something off the plastic try using a glass jar and lid and smaller amounts. I only hold with to cure if your going to be keeping it for a while. I'd just leave it in there to be honest mate coz if your getting to that stage in 3 days then another 3 days would finish it off. Your lookin for it to be dry enough so the stems snap when bent thats when you can smoke it but from there ppl cure it or leave it longer to dry the rest about the same amount of time again.

Hey to all, Hi Rock first off thanks for the kudos. I'm confused as to what your saying is best for my plants and harvest. Thursday the 19th will be a full 7 weeks getting 12/12 and 7 days on plain water. I see more cloudy trics every day. I plan on using this grow for myself so I want it to last. I'm hoping to be self sufficent (fat chance) and never leave my house again. I'll cut a little out and fast dry it but the majority of the grow is going the Brown Paper bag way. I'm getting rid of all the fan leaves and lumber. I'm going to save the tiny buds and small leaves that are covered with trics and make some Gumby hash. So this might be the last group of pics I will post until I take it apart. Please, if anyone thinks I'm fucking up please let me know. Have a great day.
