Tripper radar?

Whats all this talk about "knowing?" What makes you think you know how things really are? Isnt thinking that evidence that you have no idea how things really are? Dont you think everyone in the world thinks that they get it, that they know "how it is," and look at you and see some one who just doesnt get it?

 

See, that statement right there leads me to think that you don't know. If you did, you'd know what knowing means. It doesn't mean you understand everything. It just means you get the joke.

Not everyone thinks that they get it or know how it is. I know that I don't, but I also know that I "know".

Our language isn't developed enough to express it unless you get it.

 

WHy do Dog's do that with Salvia. Always at the worst time too, right after you are out of it they come and piss you off. I believe we need to study the fuck out of this drug, it is the only one Dog's seem to want to be around.


When you know you know even when you say you think, it is called tact. Unless you are proving somebody wrong, lets say for instance NorCaliGreenFiend says something like you don't know shit because you said the word think and then a guy named prismatism comes along and makes a valid point on how words and thoughts do not really go hand in hand, which is true, just read some of my posts, all thoughts, not a word was spoken or checked upon, just flowing unstoppable shit. I know you all can tell I am sober right now.

I also know that having used a psychedelic drug does not automatically make you a shaman, OK? you may have an open mind, but that doesn't make you any more aware than a worm crawling through the mud. Reality is subjective, everyones is different, so youre perspective isnt important to anyone but yourself. Haven't you ever heard the saying, "All I know is that I know nothing?"

Premature enlightenment is common among the psychedelic community, and I dont like it. Read Desos' post, "i can look at a person and tell that they know how things really are." How arrogant is that to think that he can look at another person and see into their soul? Do you think you are supernatural? No, youre no different than myself or some desk-jockey, IKEA shopping drone, were all trying to comprehend the mysteries of our universe, and were all too small and dumb to realize that there is nothing to get.

Anyways, my point was, and remains, that your claim that you 'get it' is just as ignorant as me saying I follow the way of the samurai because I read a book about them once.

I don't believe that you have any idea what I'm talking about, because the way you're reacting is as if you heard the joke, thought you got it, but aren't laughing. And it's a hilarious fucking joke. So you either don't get it or you have no sense of humor. But it doesn't matter. We're not on the same page so I'm gonna let it go.

No one is claiming to be a shaman or to be enlightened or any of that. It's not arrogant to understand what a cookie is made of and be able to duplicate the process and make your own cookies. Everyone's batch will come out different, but if you *get it*, you can be pretty certain you won't wind up with fried chicken. But it doesn't make you special. It's just a cool thing. And it's aggravating to have someone try to convince you that fried chicken is cookies... There's nothing wrong with fried chicken, but it's not cookies.

 

your right, reality is subjective. in MY reality i feel i know. i don't know all, i never said i did, i just "know" in the way you know someone's watching you. it's a feeling, somethings something. impossible for me to describe it, but its my reality, so I know.

yeah in my experience dogs love the smell of weed.

 

I dont think anyone ever 'gets it'. we all just find better ways of expressing our feelings and reacting to problems. whether someone really gets it or not.. is a totally undecidable matter.
All we can ever really discern is whether someone 'gets' similar things to ourselves. The question of whether we aCtually 'get it' is replaced with a question of whether we both 'get' the same things.


And even then.. ive found it is easy to have a conversation with someone (particularly on acid) and seem to be agreeing on things but both parties are actually thinking about completely different things.

 

My friend's dog runs away terrified if she even gets a whiff of it on your clothes. Forget actually smoking around her, she almost cries.

 

you bring up a valid point. i guess it's just my view that there is really only one way to progress, and the rest of the paths are just perversions; and when someone has progressed to a certain point in reality, i can tell.

but then as you said that is all subjective, i guess maybe i would be better off saying that i can notice people who are on similar wavelengths to myself.

EDIT: it's just largely understood here what is meant by "higher beings", or "knowing" as alot of the people on these forums are on similar wavelengths.

 

Language just sucks when it comes to stuff like this.
Basically, it's just an intuitive assurance that other person has seen the same thing you have, even though there is no name for it and no adequate way to describe it.

one can never really 'know' because to know would imply that reality is finite. it is very much infinite, so really there is just knowing more. and to deny that we don't 'know more' is ludicrous and ignorant.

better to be an optimistic fool than a pessimist.

 

so what if im a pessimist. i see things the way they really are. id much rather be a pessimist then an optimisitc fool...im not going to play dumb. it takes all kinds my friend. its really even quite the coincidence if you look at my other posts. i posted something in a thread a few minutes ago, before you replied to this one. go read it. its quite funny. just read my other posts.
