have you heard the news? Not to be outdone, Canada has assassinated Father Guido Sarducci for "credible threats" made during the mid-1980's against their government

    lol, seriously,

you give these security wankers a badge and a gun, and they'll harass tourists because

    a) they want to play GI Joe

    b) they are completely useless, so they feel the need to justify their existence

way to keep america safe, assholes

Welcome to the Internet; where millions of servers are set up to parse text and designate people into risk groups.

You're never anonymous. Even TOR and L2P have their holes. Taking a bus to a distant residential unsecure wifi using an encrypted HDD laptop, that you normally don't use, equipped with a MAC spoofer is your best bet. But there are always trails. Even encrypted -> unencrypted data leaves unique signatures. If your connection is encrypted but your encrypted connection and decrypted connection fall between 2 of NSA's boxes, they can determine by time of access, frequency of access, and the size of the data who you may actually be. Network forensics is a big deal these days. This is why you never do shit from home.

Over a decade ago software firms were developing software to identify people based on where on the Internet they go; the times they go there; and their frequency of going there. The claim was this was to be used to match people with the use patterns of known terrorists. But we all know how powers expand.

NEVER assume you're anonymous. The best you can ever achieve on the Internet is confidentiality. The real pros set up their own peers and not using public "anonymity" networks. Even then they still maintain risk.
