Topless Women

If you dont wanna see the 60 year old man/woman topless then dont look. Just cuz you dont wanna see them doesnt change the fact that they got a right like everyone else to go topless.

That's what's so brilliant about the burqas the women wear in Afghanistan. You encounter an ugly woman on the street here, and you say "I don't want to see that" but under our stupid laws you have to endure her. Over there, it's never a problem. They understand that nobody should ever have to see another person that they don't want to see, not to mention how much kinder it is to every woman who's afraid that she's offensively ugly, if she's can cover herself up (and if all the women do it, nobody's feelings are hurt). And we're telling them that they do stuff wrong--we're crazy! Yes, let's start by chasing those horrid 60-year-old people off beaches or telling them to get covered, but there's so much more we need to do.

 

There are a lot of things I see in life that I don't like. That doesn't mean I want everyone to wear sheets draping their bodies. You act like every person around would walk around topless if allowed. Please. I bet you would maybe see one or two women a year without a top on. And probably only at the beach or pool.

I said its stupid to say "don't look." People walk into your vision. If someone is walking right infront of you..should you just turn your head to the side and walk forward so you dont look at them? its silly to say "don't look"


There are topless/nude beaches in this country btw. There is nothing wrong with a little modesty either

 

You have control over your actions. You cannot blame your actions on stimuli. When will people be responsible?

Go find a nice little lady to bake you a cake a pop out some kids for you. I'll be at work being a "feminist" just because I feel women and men should have the same rights and believe women shouldn't base their self-worth on mens' opinions.

The people you dont want to see "like topless women" would be rare if that sort of thing is legal so the likelyhood that any of them would walk into your feild of vision is minimal at best and even if they did itd only be for split second and you could just look and or walk the other way and it wouldnt be a problem. You could just deal with it like you do when you see anything else you dont like out in public. Its not the woman's fault you find the sight of her bare torso repulsive.

 

Yeah they are treated unequally because they cant take their shirts off when men can. Women need to have equal rights as men and they need to get them without the men's rights that they already have being compromised.

I dont think it is being treated unequally. American society says that a penis, butt, vagina and boobs are sexual. All sexual things get covered. Now please dont try the "oh but men about breasts too!" You can look at women's breasts and men's breasts and see that they are different. Aesthetically and physiologically. Different things get treated differently.

Besides, once you remove tops...why not remove bottoms? I take it you're a nudist..so this question is kind of pointless to ask you...i'm guessing.

 

I don't understand what's so wrong about seeing someone that is ugly naked. You should hug your doctor next time you go in for a checkup Megara.

You can ask"who is to say what is modest" and i can ask "Who is to say it is acceptable for women to go topless?" Want to argue it is an inalienable right?

I dont believe i talked about ugly people. At least not in my recent posts. This thread is over 2 years old..so if i did a long time ago forgive my current ignorance.

I dont think it has to do with ugly. We all define ugly differently anyways. My belief is simple: i think there is a time and a place for everything. Somethings arent acceptable at all times.

Green: If you don't want to look at ugly people - and cannot bear to tolerate looking at ugly people - then the next step of action for you, would be to eliminate them permanently. Hell, if we define beauty as "superior," and ugliness as "inferior" why not define one race as superior over another for the reason of average cancer incidence? Average penis size? Amount of melanin in the skin?
