even JRPGs? Some people really like RPGs but they only like either western or japanese. both versions are RPGs but the are really different
Yeah, that's a good point. I haven't played many JRPGs to be fair, I guess my main beef with the FFs (I played 3/6 & 7) was the weird, unnatural and imo boring dialogue. But I also wasn't a fan of the character building OR the battle, so... They may have good stories, but so do a lot of WRPGs (a great example is PS:T)
Yeah, I don't speak Japanese, but they say that a lot gets lost in the translation and the game can come out sounding weird and awkward.
- Prince of Persia - Sands of time - Ninja gaiden (any others who loved this game? Haven't finished it yet by the way) - Zelda - Ocarina of time - Knights of the old republic - Morrowind - Elder scrolls III was very cool indeed, but I'm not nearly finished. Gave it a rest when looking for the dissident priests and didn't start again. Only went a couple of times behind that wall around the top of the vulcano. Uhm, for multiplayers I had a great time with - Goldeneye N64 - Mariokart N64 - SSX3 I'm really looking forward to Red dead redemption, hope it will be what I expected Red dead revolver or Gun to be
I've always loved Fifa. I don't think that there really has been much change in the game in the last 15 years or so... but I'm a big fan.
Yeah, I really should have added GTA to my list. I've wasted a lot of time playing that game throughout my life. I forgot all about Freedom Fighter, that was a pretty fun game.
X-com Jagged Alliance 2 Tekken 5 Modern Warfare Fallout3 Final Fantasy 3 Secret of Mana Quake 2 Carmageddon Daggerfall I hate all time list's because I constantly change my mind, has anyone here played Super Columbine massacre RPG?
Zelda Ocarina of Time - best game ever Comix Zone NHL 99 Mario Kart 64 Mario Party 1-5 Extreme G Sonic the Hedgehog Scarface Guitar Hero NFL Blitz forget the year
4! tony hawk 4 was the pinnacle of the franchise before it became utter shit. hell, i've played morrowind four times and never got more than about 1/3 of the way through the main quest. and that was just one time; the other 3 times i didn't even start the main storyline. i can't really make a list; i'm too indecisive. it would certainly include morrowind and the gta series. early zelda back when it was still top-down view. sonic and mario both deserve mentions as well. i'm drawing a blank. i may return to add more later.
god i hated that game. the only damage i've done to my apartment in the year and a half i've lived here was done in response to that game. the soundtrack was catchy as hell though.
Super Mario Bros. 3 was great! I still have it! Right here in my room! But I didn't like the fact that you couldn't go backwards in the original Super Mario Bros. - besides, I could never get past level 4 unless I cheated - I know, I suck - but still, it could have been a little easier..
i never could beat that game as a child. now i can beat it in about a half hour, without cheating or warping.
I loved it, but it gets boring. The soundtrack was amazing though, it sure made the game a lot more enjoyable. Judas Priest, Motorhead, Johnny Cash.. It doesn't get better than that.
yeah, that's how i felt about it too. it just got boring too fast for me to label it as a great game. plus, there were a few times the game just decided "YOU DIE NOW!!!!" and there was literally no way to get around it, which is ok if it only happens once in a blue moon and not during something important, but it happened too often to me in that game and a couple times it was after a drug distribution mission (those took what, 45 minutes or some shit like that?) and before i could save, and after that happened a couple times i just couldn't pick the game back up and do the same exact thing again for another hour. so i never completely finished it.
Okay, I know you are all debating this shit, but, seriously get your hands on freespace 2 (you can "pirate" it the license has a provision where you can copy the discs and give them to your buddy) then go to hardlight productions http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,47045.0.html and get that. it is the freespace open installer. it allows you to put freespace on windows, mac or linux. it also allows you to amp up the graphics to modern standards, as well as the sound, add more mods than you can dathom, with better production value than you've ever seen in a game mod and then get involved in the community and you tell me that there is any single game out there better than FS2 and, yes, I know it is incoherently complicated to play if you want to be good at it, that's the beauty, you can be okay, and still have miles to go before you are good.
