Yes, and that's exactly why you're wasting your time on him. This isn't about Tool, this is about his unreasonable attitude and his tendency to verbally abuse everybody he disagrees with. You'll never be able to convince him that it's okay for others to like a band he doesn't. He's just a narrow-minded, probably very insecure guy hell-bent on being as 'true' and 'metal' as possible, who can't win or even hold a debate through actual argumentation so he resorts to ad hominem comments of the lowest kind, making himself look like a pathetic fool in the progress.

Yes, you've got it completely figured out. This has nothing to do with Tool, or my opinion on their music. This has nothing to do with my freedom to speak my mind on a shitty band. It's not of my control if certain others are offended and feel the need to defend a fad/trend band. All I did was state my opinion, if one wishes to argue with me over it, I'm more than happy to "verbally abuse" them, as you put it. Its not for me to be convinced that others can enjoy shit music, its for others to realize that not everyone can stand it, and that when one can accept praise on a band, they should be ready to hear from the other end of spectrum.

I won't bother throwing in some namecalling in response, though I will note that it is rather interesting that someone who accuses another of argumentum ad hominem would do just that in the very post they call it in. Such things to make for what many might see as false character.

 

I'm not a Tool fan, as I have stated earlier in this thread, and elsewhere on this forum. I've mostly avoided them. If I have ever heard a Tool song it was without me knowing the artist.

Ah yes, as for the namecalling, now that you mentioned it I might have stepped over my boundaries somewhat. But, you must understand that I've been having a crush on you since forever, and was angry with you also for taking down all your pictures I've been drooling over (and more). So this makes me twice as embarrassed for having been such a meanie. I am glad, however, you are taking it so well. Still, I apologise as profusely as is appropriate.

And I'm not a false character! At least, not as false as I used to be. I have problems you know. I've been doing better, but sometimes I have relapses like this. So, yeah. Well.

if you haven't notice i really don't argue with him, nor anyone else. i've even reminded pushit that he said that they were 'great song writers' (i think that was it.) and you have to admit that his attempts to insult are rather humorous. i pity anyone who lets it get to them. it's rather hard to insult someone when they could care less what you think of them. besides i've been called way worse.

oh by the way, i am sorry that you find things tiring to watch.
