I used to be an absolute Tool fiend. Go figure, czech the username. Then I realized that they're all total fucking assholes. When I saw Pigmy Love Circus, every band member EXCEPT Danny was sitting around the bar, kickin' it with people. I chilled with Shep for a good ten minutes and just chatted. Where was Danny? "One autograph per person, one autograph per person" "Danny, you're a fantastic drummer.." "What do you want me to sign?" And then he went off to his tour bus. They've progressively become more douche-y as the years have gone by. Opiate was fantastic. As was Undertow and Aenema. They started getting that "Oh, look, we're deep" vibe with Lateralus.. but it was still alright. 10,000 days just eats dick. They reused the same old riffs and just put some obscure bullshit lyrics in front of it. Maynard's basically saying, "LOOK AT ALL YOU SHEEP, I'm such an enigma, I'm going to throw all this deep 'meaningful' shit at you and laugh at your ignorance while I sit back in my money-stuffed chair and sip expensive beer because I'm a deep, enigmatic person. Sheep!" That's just the vibe I get. They made some damn good music, once upon a time; I respect them as musicians. But if you're an asshole, you're just an asshole.
Well if I had millions of fans drooling over me and wanting me to sign everything from an album cover to their ass, I might come off as an ass myself. People think that they know these musicians soooooo well when they don't know shit
Tool sucks the biggest sloppy cock on this planet they can all go eat a big steaming pile of dog shit. thanks just had to share that with all u tool fans
^^he was expressive, certainly not impressive. and although they are great musicians, they are assholes to everyone. but if you lived in LA and saw the ppl there 24/7 youd be annoyed with humanity too. besides most of my fav bands have assholes in them, marilyn manson is a stuck up jerk, kyo from dir en grey always lies consistantly in interviews to screw w/ ppl. etc. but hey, they make good music
I relize that everyone has their own ideas of what good music is, but I think that TOOL rocks and everyone who doesnt agree can keep their mouths shut or go to the whinners thread. And to a certain someone, (you know who you are!) if you consider Megadeath to be "gods" why should anyone even waist their time reading your crap. Maybe you should actually listen to TOOL, you obvioslly(spelling sucks) havent. Oh by the way, I do like Megadeath!!!:guitar:
HAhahahah. ha. I have listened to each cd, otherwise how would I know that every other song sounds like the one before it? lol. Here's a competition for all you tool fans... Find one tool song that sounds nothing like another song they've done.
:stunned: :hah33: This thread is starting to sound like it's on this other forum I used to go to..... at Ultimate-guitar.com. There's a reason I stopped going there......and thats all the fuckin bullshitty whining about everything. The forum was cool at first, but after a while there wasn't one thread with at least one person bitching and complaining that so and so band licks sweaty dog nutz, and if you like said band then you lick three sweaty dog dicks at the same time!!! HAHAHAHA ooooooOOOoOOOOoOO PWNED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh sweet memories
OH NO! God forbid someone share thoughts that don't match that of a fanboy. Don't like alternate opinions? Open forums probably aren't your thing.
I enjoy a good open debate, online and otherwise. It wouldn't bother me if you liked listening to Backstreet boys while dancing interpretive dance.....but it's sad when someone runs their mouth about something they obviously know nothing about.
TooL is fucking amazing, both in the studio and live! I've seen em on June 24th in Hamilton, Ontario, and even though the sound quality was shit they still rocked. Lateralus and Undertow are fucking amazing! 10 000 Days isn't that bad...but the older stuff is still MUCH better. Adam is an amazing artist...you cannot learn to appreciate the complexity of tool's music until you start to uderstand where their ideas come from...
Different sounds? Aenima ( I hate that song, just for reference. ) and Rosetta Stoned The Grudge - 46 & 2 Ticks and Leeches - 4 degrees Lateralus - Cold and Ugly Yeah. There's a difference. I love Tool. Quite possibly my favorite band. And Maynard is a major ****. Opiate was a big 'fuck you' to religion, and everything else, and AEnima was the same way. Lateralus was, in my understanding, a big wake up for the band. 'Red and yellow' of course, being a reference to the first colors a child sees. And 10,000 Days was something personal. His mother in a coma for 10,000 days .. He also covers this in A Perfect Circle, but that's aside from the point. You either love Tool, or you hate them, that's sorta just the way it is. Maynard is a real bitch, and neither Adam Jones, or Justin Chancellor (sp?) ever move on stage. But I still love the band. They really invoke alot of moods. MJK's attitude isn't why I love the band. (Though, without his anger, perhaps they wouldn't be where they are.)
definately a toolhead. Love them I have all their albums. My fav would probly be of course lateralus.
^ Mhm Lateralus rocks. My favorite is Undertow or Opiate. I cant wait but you know the eye in the parabola video and the lateralus album? Im thinking about getting 2 of them on my lower back either theyre looking at you or theyre going upwards. i cant decide but im getting it in march
Anyone who has listened to a few tool songs knows enough about them to say that it's boring mid-tempo rubbish in the same vein of "holier than thou" attitude found in apple computer enthusiasts and luxury car owners. I could fall asleep to this band. GIVE ME SOME SADUS.
