    Yesterday I ducked the droplets on my way out to the car and lugged an umbrella the rest of the day. Seems like it quit late yesterday; though they're reporting 3 storms, so more to come I guess.

    Ice is the only thing I don't like. Been caught in a bunch of ice storms in the middle of the night coming home.

    That reminded me of the panic call that I got from Jane one afternoon, telling me that the cars steering had failed.
    Then she casually mentioned that she had slipped over twice getting from the car across the road to the telephone box to call me. :)

    Damn she's lucky. I did 2 full 360's coming home one night. It was an old car. No ABS, no airbags, and no traction control. Just driving along trying to get home. I don't know what happened. Next minute I was spinning. Straighten her out and kept moving like nothing happened. Luckily no one was on the road that night. Yeah I laughed about it after it happened lol

    True, she was driving an old Austin princess. Being that it was1980, their was no such thing as ABS (or mobile phones).
    This happened on the west coast of Ireland, where you could drive for 50 miles without passing another vehicle, so at least this removed the risk of a collision.

    Thank you for the explanations about Internet in Turkey. I wondered how you get to this site. I had difficulty getting to some sites from Australia, where they also censor many websites.

    When travelling around the world I was always the one struggling to understand the pilot's announcements and being left in a state of wonder... what's gonna happen next!

    Arriving in someplace like Morocco and trying to deal with Arabic writing is also quite challenging! Best be prepared :)

    I used to live with the Lonely Planet books at my fingers while traveling.
