I returned in a very wrong time. Today is a colder day than yesterday.

When you only stay 3 nights, you encounter this problem. But me staying one more night would mean staying 3 more night because of the corona lock down that takes place in weekends and that would be too long. I did not want to say for 3 more nights to be able to stay for 1 more night.

Weekend is corona lock down.

I went out for a ten minute walk to get the Saturday morning newspapers.

If I hadn't returned home today, I would have measured minus 30 again like the last time I did in the town.

But there are corona lockdowns in weekends. If there wasn't this corona lockdowns, I would delay my return the next day and stay one more night.

 

Brilliant weather here... a relatively warm winter; and with all the talk of a warming climate you'd think I'd be more concerned. I suppose I am, but being out in the freezing cold is never fun. I jog each morning, and so the colder it is the less comfortable I am out in it!

But I don't know if the reason it isn't very cold has to do with climate change.

I'm not a qualified scientist, but my guess is that sadly it has everything to do with that though.

 

I missed your discussion... Where did you go?

At some point in the years to come I'm planning a trip to Kyrgyzstan, and guess where every other flight stops... Istanbul. Many of the flights are on Turkish airlines, so I may have the opportunity to say I have been there even if only at the airport.

Whenever I look into travel to other countries I dread not being able to read signs at the airport. There's no rule that they must post things in English for tourists, so I know better than to expect it.

 

While it got very cold in the middle of the night. When I went to bed at 2am. It was down to 20 degrees. Of course as the morning went on. The temp went up. We are currently awaiting a storm next week. I'll believe it when it happens. And happy Saturday.

A small town in Eastern Turkey.

The day I returned got colder. If I stayed one more night, which would mean 3 more nights because of corona lockdown, I would have measured minus 30 degrees again.

One day before, I measured minus 25 when the weather was warmer but the next day I would have measured minus 30... So sad... Very unlucky of me.

But I had already experinced minus 30 in January 2019 in the same place.

 

Frozen photos from the town taken today (not by me but a newspaper man who I met in the town). I left the town yesterday and today got colder than yesterday (my unluckiness)

I would have measured minus 30 in the town today in the morning if I did not leave the town yesterday.










I will also share the photos taken by me but the quality is nothing like it. I use Sony Ericsson w810i.

Forgive me but I find it far very interesting how one thinks 63 F is cold. It is just a t shirt weather for me

It sounds like it gets very cold there. I experienced similar weather when I lived in North Idaho around 1995. it was too cold to go outside really but we had gear for it and we did go outside when we needed to - chopping wood and stoking the fires. It was an outdoors camp of sorts, but by that time I was allowed to live indoors with the phase-two program participants. It was sort of a behavioral modification type of place. Anyway, it was super duper cold!

since my last report, the weather has turned to rain.
