SLIPPERY TRAVEL POSSIBLE EARLY THIS MORNING...
A light coating of snow fell in many locations late last evening and earlier this morning. While the light snow has ended...patchy ground fog has developed across portions of the region. Temperatures well below freezing may allow for this fog to freeze on untreated roadways. Motorists should drive with extra caution early this morning and be prepared for slippery travel along with areas of black ice.

Just as well as Wifey and I are off out today to buy a new bed, making sure that the mattress is Tempur brand Memory Foam.

I wish it was that warm here !!! Woke up to 4 degrees F this morning And right now it is 12 degrees F. In the next few days they are talking about lows in minus degrees. F

It's still a few days out but the local meteorologists are starting to use words like Bombogenesis, Heavy snow (1-2 feet) Blizzard Conditions,
and with astronomical high tides damaging coastal flooding.

Much still depends on the exact storm track, we shall see.

I do hope that all the storm tracks away from at risk places.
I would be crapping myself at that lot!
I whinge and moan about our weather here in the UK occasionally, but I should be thinking about how lucky we are here generally speaking.

There's a 70-90% chance it will maintain it's current path which means over the next few days everyone will be in panic mode (striping the store shelves of food, buying snow shovels, snow blowers, portable generators, and loading up on ice-melt)

The condition is called snowphobia which was first coined in Buffalo NY after The Great Blizzard of 1977

Exactly, someone posted this video a number of years ago, and it's apt.

Most of the video footage is from the Blizzard of 1993 with plenty of references to the Blizzard of 1978.

 

The only people who really have to be concerned are those living along the immediate coastline especially this go around with astronomically high tides and tropical storm force winds.

Watching your home crash into the sea and float half way out Massachusetts Bay is a life changer
