Hurricane Ida now carrying 100 mph winds. It's expected to make landfall exactly 16 years to the day Hurricane Katrina made landfall on the Louisiana coast
There are too many hurricanes! WoW! 16 years to the day... Here our predicted storm seems to be fizzling... but I remain prepared.
Perhaps a nice shower instead of a bath. We live way off in the williwags and have gone out naked on a rainy Summer day for fun and refreshment.
This is too much information My Special Angel Sister! ....... .. Good SUNDAY morning, afternoon/evening/night to all me HIP forum friends. Looks like another nice day here in North Wales UK, with temps around 18/19c. That will do for me. Trying to fit watching football on TV today and going out walkies in the meantime. My Wifey bollocks me if I get stuck either on this keyboard or watching TV as she says we need exercise. She usually gets her way. But if she said SEXERCISE. She would win every time! If you want you can look in at our live CCTV camera at the weather. Garden and sea and promenade right now. Looking down towards the sea. Too much information? Hmmmm... A thousand pardons, my brother. I was most revolting! 61F now at 6:19 am here in Connecticut.
Here in La Paz, yawn, another beautiful day! We sure got spoofed by this supposed Category 4 hurricane threat... I have never seen a storm fizzle into nothingness so fast! But my heart certainly goes out to New Orleans and the area, 16 years ago today they had Katrina bashing them... now Ida. Which will cost more I wonder?
Here in the UK our BBC and Sky News is covering all of this quite a lot. That looks all very frightening stuff when they talk about 150mph winds with gusts of 180mph and possibly more in Louisiana. God. I have never experienced anything like that thank goodness, but my heart goes out for the poor souls in it’s path!
For people in the track of Hurricane IDA, either get well out of its way or hunker down and don't venture out in it just to see what its like. I've been through a hurricane at sea, - its not nice and its scary.
We just went from a fantastic 80’s and sunny to flash flood warning, with now very heavy rain all in 2 hours, Funnnn…
In the middle 70s here in Connecticut today, Grey and drizzling. Still have winds, but so far no loss of power!
Hopefully the cost in lives will be less. It was in the middle 70sF here today, and drizzling all afternoon. That's all we got, high winds cleared out. 8:12 Pm here now. Hope all are OK as I know many of our brothers and sisters here are in the path of this storm.
If that scares you, brother, you should see a tornado! I was about 25, working as a chambermaid in a Koala Inn motel, when I saw one. We were all in the basement, watching from the windows, which were at ground level. There was the Bradley Air Museum right across the street. That tornado never touched the side of the street I was on, but did it ever tear up the planes in that field! Like an angry, destructive, but invisible for child breaking up his toys! It was an incredible sight.
