Records are shattering everywhere... didn't someone say this would happen? I am sorry it is so hot there, that's severe.
The Mexicans are big fans also... elote is everywhere. Stands by the road have ears freshly roasted. Peel it back and put hot chilis on it! Munch munch.
That humididity is the real killer I think. Just now it is starting to build up down here. July, August, September get brutal. But it is expected here.
I really like that gif image... Sunday morning coffee mmmm good. And I would never think of you bragging. I thought you had probably retired from decades of work and worry, but now enjoying yourself while you can! I think it's a great plan. Anyone who works hard all their life deserves a good retirement, and respect from the next generations for all they did in life.
The last 5 years in particular we’ve been shattering the record books Heat emergency goes into effect tomorrow with heat indices in the low 100s
Well here at the Tropic of Cancer: (I do not know who that person is...) It is getting hotter and steamier as we progress into summer. Today started out cloudy, breezy and the usual frying fish smell at 4 AM from next door. Seems the fishermen here ALL eat fried fish tacos for breakfast before dawn, when they drag out the pangas and go out in the bay. The smell will knock you dead, so it's a ritual to get up and close all windows at that time every morning, and going back to bed. At least the house still cools off at night... in a few weeks that will not happen. And there is a tormenta forming just south of us. Predictions are for it to slam into Baja Sur's Cabo area and dissipate, with no rain predicted for us here in La Paz.
PNW residents….this is your wake up call!! Climate change is real and it’s not pretty. This weekend all time high temperature records have shattered only to be broken again on the next day, records that have stood since record keeping began over a century ago. Records for a slew of individual cities and even entire states. I know enough science not to make conclusions from conspicuous anecdotes but this is a game changing event that is consistent with increasing average temperatures and science expectations of extreme events. Only the clueless can claim otherwise.
...... .... Good Monday Morning/Afternoon/Evening or Night to my HIP forum friends. Not too bad today the weather, and it looks like things are warming up for the week ahead. Going off to Merseyside/Liverpool this morning for a few days to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary on 1st July. Plus my bla bla bla birthday on 3rd July. So not likely to be able to do my usual weather situation here. I hope to be able to post some holiday pics though! .. If you wish you can look in on my LIVE CCTV stream from here in North Wales Colwyn Bay/Rhos On Sea UK to see the latest situation. The cameras are situated just above our Patio Doors. At least we can look in at our both indoor and outdoor CCTV cameras while we are away on holiday as well. Everything is alarmed so notifications come through on any movement indoors.. Looking towards the sea: Shared Live Stream | Nest Looking towards bridge: Shared Live Stream | Nest ....... ........
Under a heat advisory yesterday and today. Didn't stop me from going on my outdoor adventures. Fishing, hike, and then running. Will be running again today
Yesterday we tied the record high of 97°F and today with a forecast high of 99°F we'll tie the all-time record for the day Newton, MA Current Weather 4:01 AM 76°F RealFeel® 82° F Clear Wind SW 2 mph Wind Gusts 6 mph Humidity 85% Dew Point 71° F DAY High 99°F RealFeel® 107° RealFeel Shade™ 101° Mostly sunny, very hot and humid; caution advised if outside for extended periods of time
Love the corn, can't deal with chili peppers, though my husband loves them. I'll have to ask whether he's ever paired them up. Hot, hot, HOT today in New England. Missing Brother Kenny as he's away on holiday, but he deserves a break! Last night we were out on the front porch until around 4am, at which point it was still near 80! Bad for us who have breathing issues. I often wonder why 80F, a perfectly acceptable daytime temperature, is so oppressively hot after the sun goes down. Is it just my perspective, or does everyone find this so? Supposed to get up into the 90s again today, and no air stirring; it's as if the very atmosphere, soupy and still, is holding its breath.
Apart from the HOT weather, which you have been wanting, I have to say that video was funny Typically Mexico...where dreams can come true for anyone!
Thank you for the report AngelMama! Good to hear from you, but sorry to hear about the heat. I remember summer days up in Falls Village (northwest Connecticut) - they were brutal. With no air moving at all, the humidity builds up and that's the killer. Be careful and drink lots of water! I hope the systems move soon and relief finds you.
There is a little storm heading our way... here is a Windy snapshot. Today will be warm, tomorrow a bit cooler as we get some rain and wind from the Tropical Depression as it passes over our heads. I am glad it did not become a Hurricane as it would have us blasted right between the eyes.
Off subject, but my eye appointment needs to be rescheduled. My ride from Veyo called and cancelled on picking me up because they didn't have a wheelchair van available. Strange, as I had arranged the ride a couple weeks in advance. And yes, it is the humidity that makes the heat intolerable.
Thank you for the eye update. I wondered how that was going. I don't like the humidity either. Makes me gasp for air sometimes. Being 68 years old is becoming challenging in some respects.
