My favorite loophole is that they can import all the parts to build guns - and those are untraceable....oh, and the bump stocks can't be outlawed either. We've lost our minds.
It really isn't about no one giving a shit about this disgrace to humanity, if you will, but with how it should be handled. Most all gun haters think that passing more and more laws will actually protect us from these crazies that are bent on creating mayhem, whereas the others, who some have called the gun nuts think otherwise, as the above posts have made an attempt to explain. Then there are others like me, that are saying let's do something, even if it's wrong and doesn't have a chance in hell for curing the problem. Then we can say that we at least tried.
Good luck with that. Our gun lobby friends have deep pockets and many GOP friends that they've made quite wealthy. I bet if you asked the gun nuts what the 2nd Amendment actually says, 95% say "wheeeoooo it done sez wee have the rots to own guns and guns".. Yeah, if you are part of that well regulated militia to protect the state, in which the 2nd says has the right to bear arms - in the time and context, meaning swords, muskets and clubs.....not 100 shot clips and bump stocks.
Well, like you said it's most probable, that ship has sailed and taken the dock with it. I like that addition to the old saying, by the way. And for taking the dock with it, I mean...lol All aside, it's a lot more about how many men, women and children we kill and maim each year with guns, if you compare it with the carnage taking place on the nations highways. It's all in the purposeful manner for which we do this killing and maiming. And yes gun deaths are increasing and for outpacing many states for auto accidents.
Ah yes, the real motivation to do anything. Go into something half heartedly knowing it will fail so you can look at yourself in the mirror. Wow. If anyone does call you a "gun nut," sentiments like that are exactly why.
Especially child deaths. Frequently we hear here, 'child plays with parents gun found on the night stand, shoots his little brother' But until you make failure to secure a firearm from a minor a felony with jail time, nothing will change - it's a misdemeanor . If there's a gun in the house, your chances of being killed by it are magnitudes more than by getting killed by a stranger...
I think you're reading me all wrong, but let me remind you that I'm a realist first and foremost. And not at all like the world's greatest optimist who said to his self ....everything's OK so far.... while going past the10th story of a 20 story building he had just fallen from.
Even if, Yamamoto knew better with having spent time in this country attending Harvard University and really didn't want anything to do with it, personally. And for mainly recognizing civilian power in the factories which could out produce them and for what usually wins wars in the long term.
Just to answer the thread question............. Humannature/history/current bs..............easy answer/way out*sigh* Mzzls Ps. these days everything is in your face((social) media..........Senless violence happend everywhere, every day.......history
Nope, you can't stop the rain for sure and this whole thread from the get go has been about passing more and more umbrella laws that will be sure to keep guns and especially the so called rain of assault weapons out of the hands of the crazies. Some think that this is the answer, while others think it as a waste of time, money and effort.
Sure, it's a noble idea, great idea, but nothing will happen unless they track down every single one and do a sweep from Maine to California and melt them down - and outlaw their manufacture, parts, ammo. Ain't nothing ever gonna happen....especially with Cheat-o Jesus in the white house...
I'm sure it all must seem like lunacy to you, to which it is. None of this is truly the will of the vast majority of Americans - we are just normal people - but so many things are at the whim and whimsey of very rich and powerful people and corporations - plus the daily deluge of propaganda that turns the brains of the less educated into believing all these crazy things are for the good of all. The stupidest quote is "well, if guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns...."
Violence is not senseless--it's always been the human way of dealing with one another since crawling out of the ocean. Therefore, it must make sense to humanity to carry on the tradition. Otherwise--why is it still occurring? Here we are on this little blue ball hurtling through space on the only habitable home we will ever know---and just enough of us are still savage enough--educated or otherwise , to keep our lovely tradition of murder and mayhem going. However--never mind---BUY MORE. BUY MORE NOW.
Dont take this personal, you people get to stuck into the left/right bs, while nothing fundemental changes.............. i dont like US(not the people)...............and its influence it has on the rest of the world(Finance/left/right/economy/commercialisme/history/mentlality) Dont like China either(although they seem to be a bit smarter).............Russia meh(geopolitics) We in the EU should be a little smarter(euarmy coop ect)..........we are one in,Banks/finance/economy but very little else...........and more independent to the US/China/Russia atm. Mzzls
Even though it's very true and where there's a will, there's a way. They'll steal them, assemble them, black market them or when all else fails they'll make them from scratch. Who were the first to have Thompson's ("The Gun That Made The '20s Roar" ) in their possession and use among the civilian population back when and especially in the days of prohibition around 1925, which was another situation where let's do something, even if it's wrong. Well they did it alright and for somehow surviving it, too, even though many and especially for church groups, standing their ground, rather than admit that this so called cure was worse than the disease itself.
