honey is good as it is natural antiseptic and ginger is amazing for cold type things. you can make a drink using fresh ginger (grated) crushed garlic, honey and lemon infused in hot water. adding cinnamon might help too. drink this three times a day.

blackberry and garlic work well together as antibiotic.

    hope you're feelin better soon!

None of this is going to make any difference..It is a virus.. the only thing that is gonna get rid of it is when your immune system decides to kick its ass...All this stuff does is help your body prepare to recover...

The best thing you can do is lose the herbal stuff and get as much paracetamol/lemsip down you as possible....This stuff is designed to numb the pain.....oh and drink water.....

This is, of course, absolutely correct. The best things you can do to boost your immune system under the present circumstances are eat lots of fresh fruit and veg, don't drink or smoke, and hit yourself up with lots of echinacea (natural immune system booster). You could also try citrocidal (sp?), which is a grapefruit-seed extract alleged to act as a natural, non-toxixc antibiotic.

Care to elaborate? Whilst it's profound, it's not exactly moving the discussion forward. Of course, if you're too busy being distracted by Showmet.....

I was just thinking that your advice is good.. But giving up certain things is not that simple. Yeah i would love to stop smoking to feel better, come the 11 hour i need a fag (not showmet).

I haven't been able to smoke cos I've just not felt like it whilst being poorly...

I think what I've learned is to mix the pharmacuticals and the herbal remedies...

Whilst the pharmacuticals mask the pain... the herbals get to work on building up your immune system and fighting the illness quicker IMO.

Having said that... If I hadn;t hammered it in the first place I doubt I'd have got ill... sugar, refined flour, dairy products, alcohol and ciggies all attack your immune system opening up the way for all these nasty bugs to get in grrrrr

and the moral of the story is :p

learn to spell pharmacuticals ?? :&

See matthew, that's exactly what I expected. Most people find it pretty hard to smoke when they're that ill anyway. So under the circumstances, the advice should've been easy to follow. It's just a case of avoiding the temptation.

I spell it farmasuticls myself.. anyhoo yeah i do not smoke much when i am ill, becoming a pure soul when your ill would be nice. Unfortunatly you never know when your going to be ill so it would take a change in lifestyle to prevent such attacks on a immine system imho... giving up smoking ? mmm lost count how many times i have tried.

Also a wikkid Herbal tea I've been drinking is the Yogi Bhajan's Ancient Herbal Formula - Echinacea... It's organic and has, cinnamon, fennel, ginger, chicory, carob, burdock, cardamon, barley, anise, pepper, licorice and astragalus in it... bloody yummy :)

Hmm I really am seriously thinking about going straight edge... i dunno, it might change who I am though... I think if I made the decision I'd stick to it as I'm pretty bloody minded...

May come back to the idea in 2006 :p

    No fucking shit! A celibate, tea-total, non-smoking Claire? That'd be like a womanising, alcoholic, chain-smoking Jesus! ;)
