tins vs. bags

I keep my dope in a tin, i've had it full with 2 ounces of dro.

 

I always use bags. im not confident with the airtight-ness of an altoid or other case.

and its plenty easy to judge an eigth in a bag... you just cant because you arent used to seeing it that way

 

true, it kind of threw me off when i got my first bag. i guess here, we go through it fast, and it's always pretty high quality . same density, unless it's ESPECIALLY good. people in alaska are just so casual. we don't really care about hiding or preserving our bud, if we have it we share it and show it off, and then we get more . anyway, i'm glad all the angry feeling are settled. i'm just curious how the rest of the country/world operates since wisconsin was such a culture shock.

I like using tins to put the weed in, then put the tin in a baggie.

There is a reason for this. On every tin, there are a couple holes where the hinges are. Little weed particles fall through those. In the baggie, there are little pieces of weed laying around to prove that it does, in fact, happen. Other than that, and the idea that the smell gets out through the holes and weed doesnt stay fresh as long, I love tins.

It's best to bag the tin, though, if only for freshness.

 

Where I live there are sooooo many different types of buds everywhere, so the bud density is never the same.

 

very true, man. Every dealer should have a fucking scale of some sort.. even if the scales has been tampered with, at least pretend to know what the fuck you're selling..

My friend has this awesome steel grinder thing that sorta looks like a tin. Its so cool. It has three layers. One to put the weed. And then you grind it. And then its on the second layer. And then all the Kief crystals get filtered though a screen to the third layer. And then it fun to top every bowl with a likkle bit of it.

 

ok this is the last time i'm gonna say this, so you guys can make fun as much as you want . all the weed here is very good, it is EXTREMELY rare that you don't get super high grade shit. i don't know when it started or if it's even accurate, but around here it's pretty standard for an altoids tin to be a full eighth (some friends and i have measured it before, and it was just a little bit over) and that is how much you should expect to get. usually the people who give it to you in a bag are the shady people from other towns. sometimes, you will get it in a bag, but that's not normal. what usually happens is you go over to the guys house with your own tin and decide how much you wanna buy.

it's just this weird sharing system where we don't really care whos is whos and you just store it however is easiest to carry around. bags to me seem kind of ghetto... people who give you bags seem more like stingy drug dealers and people who ask for your tin seem more like friends.

I dont see how bags are stingy. Youre buying the product, not the packaging. Plus thats cool as shit you have nice laws and lots of weed there. Its cold as balls though, not worth the trade off to me haha.

 

It's not a good idea to sell weed by volume. Mass is gonna tell you what you're actually getting. For that reason, pretending that a tin is an eighth is not a good idea. Get a scale. Not everyone is going to give you more than you paid for.

 

We use bags, always. I've never seen weed in a tin, not from a dealer anyways. Plus, like others have said, there's a good variety of quality around here, from very bad to ver good, so you can't judge by volume.

However, I keep my weed in glass baby food bottles. I read the plastic carries an electric chage which can destroy potency. Since I don't smoke tons, my weed lasts a while, so keeping it in a bag seemed like a losing proposition. Plus, the jars are for certain airtight, because the threads on the lid are actually made of rubber.

 

yeah but people here are generous and if you do get shorted you get a bad reputation fast. people around here aren't ever desperate and just buy what they can get, there are a LOT of people so they're competing for the best word of mouth.

that seems true for where i live... at the bar that i regularly goto... everyone smokes everyone up.. appreciates the quality of the bud the person has.. we just hang out and smoke... dont worry bout anyone else... except for the owner... but in a certain way he's pretty casual about it.. we had a bunch broken up in the back of the bar the other night.. and the owner came back and was like "so you guys smoking back here?" and we're like "nope.. just rolling a joint.. havent smoked it yet... but we're goin outside to do that" and chuckled a tad.. then he walked away.. and we sparked it.. he walked back 3min later.. looked at us and walked back out

 

Yeah joker man, I have a friend down here who is from Minnesota, and he is always telling me crazy shit about how laid back it is there. Like getting in the back of peoples cars and they always pass back bubblers or bongs. I was going into school one day and some kids leaving were sitting at the light taking bong rips, but thats pretty rare for here.

 

yea... i freak out people from other towns.. because i'll just openly smoke pot... and they'll be like "what are you doin.. im goin this way.. you can get busted" because i'll just start sparking a bowl or joint while walking down the street...

 

I keep it in a bag when its stashed at home. But if I go out I put it in a tin.

 

just a baggie whenever i get some its on the weekend for that night, so i just have the baggie in my wallet. i hardly ever have bud at home waiting to be smoked, when i do its just in a bag anyway.

 

i like my altoids tin... it fits my weed and pipe.
