oh yer and umm isnt brass a safe metal? i dont know much about it but i always assumed since its used for durable thigns like coins, and door handles, and metal surfaces, that it is rather stable. i thought that was one of the reasons brass was invented, to make copper products safer and more versatile.

but ashes still get though if you thash a stem and put it in side like a fillter it will stop the ashes. yes glass screens are nice to keep you from sucking down your load. but wiil not stop small pieces of ash.

mui, actually brass doornobs are subject to fire a lot, for when a fire is within a room, and the door has a brass knob or a brass mail flap, it can rise to incredibly high temperatures. If brass was reactive enough to be effected by a lighter flame, it would be quickly destroyed by fire contained within a room. Brass is accepted in fire regulations, on doors that are used to contain fires in apartments and such.

in the end, as i said already, the amount of metal you do inhale is so small that while it is not absolutely negligable, it is not a problem at all, in any way or form, unless done regularly over a time period.

if its a choice, go glass. but that doesnt mean you have to go out of your way to avoid using metal if thats whats in front of you.

however, aluminium foil is much much worse than a brass bowl. aluminium is worse fullstop, but foil is much worse, though still not a big problem. i think one side of the foil is worse than the other as well but i dont know about that. why do you think they make teh bowl and mouthpiece of many metal pieces out of brass, and the body out of annodised aluminium?

i wish i had a glass piece but i cant be bothered paying for one. plastic bottle bong is waht we use around here if we can.
