I know the difference between the things that qualify as "whos" and the things that qualify as "whats." (And right there I properly did not use apostrophes on words that are not possessives.) Read more carefully: I wrote, "What [comma] do you think you're Prince?" As in, "What's the deal," or "What the hey" -- "do you think you're Prince" (as in, the SINGER, who uses "2" and "4" all the time for "to" and "for." You haven't scored a single point on me here, and in fact you have made a few errors of your own: - There is nothing "recent" about accepting "you're" in place of "you are," and "you're" is not slang, it is a contraction just like "wouldn't," "we're," "they're," "hasn't"... - You misused "it's" "It's" is a contraction of "it is." You should have said "because of its wide use..." It's pretty ironic that in erroneously calling me on a grammatical error I did not make, because of your failure to notice my comma, and mistakenly thinking there was one before "Prince," you made several mistakes yourself. You know instead of critquing someone's typing why don't you just help them out. They asked for advice, not an English teacher you damn momo. To the one who needed help, listen to everyone else. i was merely pointing out that you had made mistakes yourself, and you can't expect everyone to be perfect, this is the internet, not english class. i realized i had made mistakes and went back and fixed a few but couldnt be bothered to fix them all. and contractions were slang, actually almost all the words we use today were slang from constant use in speech as the english language evolved. the internet seems like the next phase of evolution in the english language, so while you think it's terrible now, 5 years down the road and some of this stuff could end up in the dictionary. i hate this 2 B 2getha 4eva shit too....but what are you gonna do? soon we'll be the ones waving our canes yelling at those damn whipper snappers and there confangled slang
