Thank you very much, my friends, I'm glad you are able to not only receive this idea but something similar must also be brewing in your heads. Ewan, check out the thread The Facts Of Life in politics if you're looking for a more detiled explanation of what daily life might be like in what I'm describing. Cesar, which comparassions of mine are shitty? I'd like everyone to be able to understand what I'm thinking, so just let me know what you don't get and I'll dumb it down for you. If I can make it that dumb. Ha, just messin', man.
If you don't consider yourself a communist, then I'd say my first post up there advising commies to take a look at reality probably isn't targeted towards you. Upset? Fuck is a word I use all the time, upset or not. I say shut the fuck up because you're all going back and forth about all these thoughts about a changed society that isn't going to exist (within your lifetime at least, that's for sure). You think I don't like these ideas or something? This is what I was talking about. Your comparisons lacks focus, but I don't really care. I'm complacent because like MidnightMoonlight says, I have no reason not to be- I can get what I want in the system I live in. Why am I going to try to change it? To live in some LSD-induced wonderland where everybody gives what they can, gets what they need, and everybody is his or her own state? Why don't you use the power of your mind towards more reasonable efforts, like goals you can achieve within this lifetime.
Alright; this is the post I hadn't got around to responding to: The only thing I got out of this ramble of a paragraph was that life isn't fair; I never said it was; it depends on your concept of fair. Technically, I do think life is fair in a quasi-karma sort of way, and I think humans have the ability to intervene with the fairness. Yes, that's awesome that you observe the animal kingdom; but why can't you observe the negeative consequences of having a money or trade economy weighed against the positives, and then maybe you'll see it isn't an even exchange as it would be in a productive, collective world free market. "Inate" is not a word.http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=inate Human nature is what you make it. Yes it was her journey, and that's great that her journey involved a system where people use her as a pawn for their own personal gain instead of talented people being noticed by their talent and not their marketability, not on how well they can sell chicken wings on Dominoe's commercials, with her lip syncing sister who is probably half your age and is your wealth squared. Again, I am not a communist. I belong to no party. Nobody said anything about no means of production. Now it seems you're making up arguments because you don't want to come to the conclusion that we, as a species, may be able to figure out a better way of life, because you want the best (who doesn't?), and if this were true then you wouldn't have the best and would have to undergo a change of thinking to get it. And it's "mumbO jumbo." You have a splinter in your eye; a splinter that is the image of people sitting around on their asses for all of their lives if they had the chance. Is that what you would be doing if you had all the time in your life to do what you want? Wouldn't you do what you felt you liked, until you found what you love to do, and do it whenever you want, switching subjects and gaining different skills if you want without the hassle of getting a job today? That would make the world go round, faster than money. People would be total professionals who were interested in the subject; without the distraction of money, products are made by those who should be making them; purely, as an art, as everything truly is. The most you'd have to volunteer to do drive a truckload of something to somewhere, and hey, that's a fun road trip, so why not? There is an enormous amount of stress that would dissolve along with currency. We would manipulate "human nature" by creating a scenario in which everyone thrives at their independent will, people would be more individual and happy. Production: object in question is throught up, designed, resources gathered, and object is made. Let's say television. Take plans from assembly lines and adapt it to the TV parts, then just watch it roll down the conveyer belt. Of course you'd need an engineer, and those would exist, because let's face it there's someone out there who digs engineering, and if this is the purpose I think he would be motivated to help design this. Infact as far as I know that's already how TVs are made. You wouldn't get all you desire all at once, unless you physicly could do that. It's easier to understand what I'm talking about when you don't spin my ideas into fairy tales where things just magicaly appear; of course you wouldn't just BAM! have everything. It would more be like, poof, the restriction of money is now gone, go get what you want. Stores like Target would probably be unmanned because nobody really wants to work there, and if you did then you can stick around and help people get what they want, and assure them that they can get it somewhere else if it isn't available so no rioting, if you see two people squabbling over something, well once again, here's your responsability in use, what do you do? I'd step in before it got violent and remind the people they can get it soon, if it were me in the arguement I'd let it go and wait, and if neither person would comply then let the two dumbasses fight it out. I think people would be too overwhelmed with the joy of this realization of true freedom to go out and immediatly riot for this crap, though realisticly there would be a few cases, but, that would happen between the transition of this current system and the system I'm talking about, but eventually nobody would drive products to those stores anymore, and they would decay into fossils of an older, more cluttered civilization. Great. That's really cool that you have those accomplishments. So would you work for free, as long as you got everything for free? The welfare state you describe exists along side the money state. Get rid of the money you get rid of the dependency. You're saying there's no difference. Think of the crime and laws and poverty and stress of currency. Think of the control this one trade item has over our lives; it forms the walls to the mouse maze tunnel of our society's institutions. The concept of showing up to work has now changed. You would choose what you do, each day. You have your entire life to live out. You never have all the means to live at once; it changes as time moves on. If you were a mooch you would be found out and become a joke of the community; your face posted on Do Not Work With websites; you would have food thrown at you where ever you went, until you manned up and chipped in on progress. Thank you. That's totally sweet. The reason those people complain is because, whether they know it or not, it is the system we are utilizing, our collective cage, is weighing down on their spirit. If you could do anything, ANYTHING, you would not sit around drunk and complain. The occupation you speak of I see as an obstruction. The funny thing about the total free market is that, you're right, sometimes things might get unproductive. I can see it fluctuating where there are seasons of unproductability, one community mooching from a neighbor, but this would be pointed out and corrected. Easy as that. No outside party to rely on, just ourselves. thanks Ahh, the old Soviet Union comparisson. The USSR was a nation within a set of nations, competing with rival states and economies. That's why their twisted marxism failed. This is not communism or marxism. There is no name for what I'm talking about, because there is nothing to name. No fictional values or concepts. For the time being, just to have a stance within the world of fiction while existing outside of it, I have come to see what I refer to as [Non-Fictionalism] is not a party, or a religion, or a set of ideals, which is why the substitute expression is placed in brackets, but that is a personal thing. It is looking at existence from an unbiased viewpoint in the universe, where people group together under higher power and exchange time for money, waiting for death because you don't have enough to do what you want to do. USSR was a crappy nation in line with a world of shit. This is the entire Earth as one nation, as it truly is, undivided. This is what's funny. You just commanded me to get a bunch of crap for you as if you can't go find it yourself. That's what sort of internal selfish lazyness a currency culture breeds. Then you depend on your 9-5 job and your dollar to do everything for you, to aid in your life's experience, and what you get in the end is wondering what you could have really done in all those years, then you'll take a shit in your cathedar and wheel around your retirement home. Hey, that stuff is out there, if you want it, go for it. That's what is available. Everything is available. If you've heard of it, it is now possible to get it. Why not? There isn't a reason anymore. It can't be the money. It can't be the location. It can't be the production because all requests are produced. Instead you let the government take it and support the lazy poor choiced fools on welfare. This is the same system, with less clutter. This is fair because you do get what you want. Do you think all people want the same thing? Do you think the poorer people in Africa, who don't need as much material to live in content, do you think they want an escalade? YOU get what YOU want. Think of that personally. There is no rich or poor, that's why it is fair. Nobody said anything about you getting the same no matter how much you work. If anything, getting what you work for is unfair here, which leads me back to my Jessica Simpson reference; she sings and performs, do you really think she should have enough money to buy and sell you, the man who worked so hard for his chemistry degree? You worked your ass of for that shit, you should get a mansion if you wanted one. Now you can.
But wouldn't you agree if everybody else did? I think if this idea was presented to the people, the people themselves, not the people in fake power, they would agree, unless they didn't understand it. Why? Sure it would probably happen a few times, but then, the people who took control of a resource and held it hostage, they would get cut off from the trading themselves. So they would be fucked. Nobody would work for them, even if they claimed all the gasoline, which is really not an object to be claimed, the earth claims it, and we use it from earth, anybody who claims it is a fool and should be laughed at. There would be no point to the fighting. And if it happened, then great, at least that's all the crime there would be compared to all the crap today. Why, when you can start your own farm land? There probably would be cases of land usurption. That's why, as it is now, but more free, you would defend your home from invaders. The community acts as the police. If someone stakes out your house and claims it as theirs, rally support for your cause and take it back, or, you can let it go and get something else because remember, everything is available to you. Because of this alone, crime would be a lot less frequent.
That's why it took me so long to respond to that post, because I had to find time to get all that out.
That's a good point, but at the time you came in and the attitude it was written in seemed to be directed at me. The upset comment had nothing to do with your use of Fuck. It had to do with you whining about how you want everybody to be quiet, and thinking that your point of view is the only way to be in touch with reality. The adults are having a debate here, the loud mouthed toddlers will have to wait their turn. Well do you like the ideas? You never specified. And the reason why it won't happen in our life times is because you say it won't. Once people can realize the fact that they can act, it can happen whenever they want. Yes it is that simple. That comparison did not lack focus, the focus was societal change and experimenting with new ideas that bring more freedom. That applies perfectly with my examples. The fact that you "don't really care" shows you cannot prove my analogy wasn't apt. "Lacks focus"? If you didn't see the obviousness of the point there, you should bail out of this thread right now. Or maybe you just wrote "lacks focus" because you think you are intellectually above me. You're too good to make your case. Or you're wrong. That's fantastic that you can get what you want, but the way you are fighting so hard against an idea where everyone else can have what they want makes you look disturbed. You are out of touch with reality, and are only in touch with your needs and wants. And if you don't realize your idividuality and believe a government or cop or anyone at all has power over you, you are truly part of a herd. Sorry about the cliche, but that's what you've made yourself. I don't put limits on the power of my mind.
The reason you thought my interject was directed towards you is probably because you weren't on this thread earlier. I was AMAZED that this thread had been going on this long, and I thought I'd give some advice to those who want their fantasy land to come to life. How was I whining? If I tell you to shut the fuck up and absorb what's around you, where is the whining part? Besides, you aren't even a communist. I was unaware that I was fighting hard? A four line post on a message board, jesus, I'm out on the front lines battling now... Try not to put words in my mouth, kthx. Realize my individuality? riiiighhhtt..., but dam.. AHAHAHAHAHAHA... here's some reality for you. I got stopped by fuzz with 70 something rolls and a couple zippas of dank. Now I'm probably going to lose my freedom because of this- a head gets caught in ohio with six hits and gets charged with selling 5 pages to an undercover beforehand along with some other possession charges, he's looking at something ridiculous like 50 years if he gets convicted- and you don't think the government or cops have power over us? You gotta be shitting me man, you say I'm out of touch with what's real... I'm gonna be laughing at that one for days, cops and government have no power over us... O where the hell is my car? O that's right the police department kept it along with all my possessions in it...
The social changes that communists promote (I realize this is only part of your philosophy) are simply propaganda techniques used to make people feel like society is all about them, when in reality power and money is STILL maintained by a select few. OK so it's not so much a lack of focus, more of a lack of the concept of value (which I could expect from communists or people who base their philosophies off of communism). A country trying to impose taxes and bs on a group of people across an ocean - that's a fair cause for rebellion. A culture destroyed by slave trading and segregation for no reason but the color of their skin- fair cause for change. Some tripped out hippies wanting more "freedom"... get real man.
i am a socialist. but i would hate to live in a socialist country. would be great to be a communistic dictator. id tell everyone i was god. he.
haha, you'd be half right, my friend. mor responses on the way. first i must roll and smoke a fatty jay. peace to all of you great debaters.
My bad, bro. What I meant by that schpeal was that in the middle of a back and forth post with pros and cons, someone comes in and tells people to shut up without any supporting or against arguements. It's always the front lines in this place. I didn't just mean that post, I meant your stance on not making change happen, just sitting there shrugging your shoulders and saying, "Oh well" because you have it good enough already. I'm sorry to hear about that; I recently received a possesion ticket. But the only reason I'd take it or that you would take it is becuase this fictional force is so huge and ominous in people's lives. If we were all pointed out, reminded, hey, remember, we are running our own show, people would become more responsible. In a nutshell, that is. I've got to go.
Besides, what do you think it is that gives these governments their power? It's money. You can't tax anything if nothing is bought or sold, if things are given and received freely.
Yeah, I'm gonna rule my world too I'll work with my hands, in all kinds of ways. I'll teach and learn more martial arts. I think I've smoked too much weed to revolutionise physics, but I'll teach my son about it, and the interconnectiveness of all things, starting with physical laws...
Midnight Moonlight you're insane dude. You go on about how hard you worked, and how well off you are because you're doing a worthwhile job and being rewarded for it, and how life is great for you in this Capitalist world, then two seconds later you're telling us how shit and broke you are. This is the capitalist reality my friend. Someone help me out with the stats - the wealthiest 1% of the people own how much of the world's assets? Something like 40. The wealthiest 10% own about 90%. What chance do you think you've got of breaking in to that bracket? Especially if those libertarians do get elected (which I somehow doubt) when everything will be decided by your ability to pay. Those fuckers would scare me if I thought they had any chance of getting elected ever. The 497 richest people in the world have a net worth greater than the poorest 3 billion. How can you be for this system when even you, who are trained and skilled and useful, can be completely skint under it.
I think you're missing the point- even though moonlight lives check to check, like I do, we can eventually pay off our debts and be all good... no problem. That's the beauty of our system, we make money at our jobs and pay off debts with our reward (money). No big deal. You guys blow little things out of proportion.. once again back to the concept of value. But whatever man, I'm not going to argue here, because you have your opinion.. I have mine, we've established that we don't agree. When you change the way the world works (kill the rich and, feed the poor un, til there is no, rich no more- i assume you like that song ;-) lol) you can PM me with an "I told you so."
Well, I don't want to kill anyone, I just want to stop the poor from existing. How about I PM you when we've got a community up and running and we can offer you food and accomodation (with internet access!) for free?
(This was a good post) How about your own country running bs on you, how about not your country but the whole man made system running bs on all of us (note I do not hate the United States; I think we are a terrific country that has a few rotten apples within manipulating our systems into shit, with an overblown federal government; anyone who knows history can see what we have now is a bit more nationalism than the founding fathers crew intended. while this is a fair rationalization, I don't think it matters who is doing what as long as it is wrong it is wrong and I picture the true meaning of freedom to be far greater than what the U.S.A. supposedly "gives" us. Only you can give yourself freedom. Much respect to the troops over seas protecting others in this current world of garbage. These were good examples; but I would have written the last one as, Certain people explaining how all of these problems could have been avoided in the first place.
