A friend of a friend just got a DUI the night before last. He was boxing his pickup with a friend in the pool parking lot and they got spotted by a cop. They tried to leave and drove a grand total of 30 feet. Apparently the cop could smell the pot from his cruiser. But they got fucked over. Both got charged with trespassing and possession(Of a fucking roach and some scraps from the book they rolled it on). The driver, who was 17, also got a DUI and being out after curfew. The curfew thing is really stupid, because the cop stopped them before curfew, at 11:30(curfew for minors is 12), but the booking/searching took 'till 1:30 so they charged him with it, apparently just to be dickheads. They admitted to being high when questioned, so I dunno what would happen if you denied it. But you CAN get charged with DUI and in VA it's a $20,000 fine! So don't be stupid people.
it is not a 20,000 fine in VA. The maximum first offense fine is 2,500, but typically is 300. now if you factor in lawyer costs, insurance hikes, transportation while you don't have a license, it may end up costing around 20,000 on the high side, but that is not the fine. Get your facts straight kid. as for the BUI as we call them, they are a serious offense. I often visit ft collins (home of Colorado state univ) and many students bike/skateboard home after parties but are always wary of getting stopepd on the bike. In laramie, wy, every july they used to (sure they still do) have what was called the tour de laramie. Cops were shut down certain roads and the bike race would go to 21 different bars to have their house drink. Got to love cowboy college towns
