ok, so this dude is probably an ill informed conservative. but we dont know that. What im hearing sounds a lot like "America: love it or leave it!" logic applied to our beloved hip forums. he may not be that polite, but since when were we hippies known for our delightful manners, honestly? the fact remains that hes saying you cant speak freely with out being jumped on, and a lot of us just proved him right. I agree now that freedom of speech is becoming an issue here and we have only ourselvs to blame. i personally think this place would get real boing real fast if everyone agreed with me. we need a resident republican or two.

I agree with Syd. Also you cant say ANYTHING remotely offensive to someone anymore, even in jest without getting banned.
I just think its sad that you cant see that people have different opinions and just because someone likes Bush or supports war or something doesnt mean that theyre evil and nasty.

Just to point out some irony here!

Everyone I know who smokes pot wants it legalized. These people have no business telling others what their freedom of speech level should be. It just makes no sense and is very hypocritical even though it's different subjects.

I've seen this kind of thing on many other message boards and all I can say is; the Republicans got us into this mess and it looks like Yoghurt will have to get us out.

 

I actually agree with the original poster. These forums have less freedom of speech than most forums I am a member of right now. Or rather, you have the freedom to post, but nobody will take it seriously. People here tend to be stubborn, close minded and intolerent of criticism.
