ah, i see. well, technically, i know some of those same people, but i don't know how they get it into their stomachs. i have friends who dip pork rinds in cream dips. but they've no problem with their weight loss. i made a point of asking them about their cholesterol levels. rob's has dropped by 100 points. me, it'd be made sick. that's just too much. i like some nice lean elk meat and some green with some rice wine vinegar. but the neat thing about fat is you don't get hungry. a little goes a long way. i guess some people do better on a lotta fat than others. some need a lot, some need almost none at all.
You are right about people not knowing what they are doing, too many people jump on a band wagon before they have done any kind of research and come away not understanding what went wrong. They constantly put themselves back on induction and don't understand that "low" carb doesn't mean "no" carb. The low-carb board I used to visit was sad. The people who do their research and understand about low carb veggies and fruits, and complex carbs seem to have the most sucess with this way of eating. We do need a certain number of carbs for proper brain function and general body energy, however the simple carbs are not where to get this ie: simple sugar, white flour, simple starches witch turn to simple sugars, white rice etc. Complex carbs are more nutrient dense thus taking longer to break down in the body and providing nutrition without the spikes in blood sugar. Fats are good, but there are good fats and bad ones of those also, fats from omega's 3, 6 and 9., olive oil, monounsaturated fat are all good. I was on low carb for awhile but do far better on a diet where I can just eat healthy complex carbs, veggies and fruit, and limited fat, with a bunch of fiber thrown in. I eat a tremendous amount of brown rice, black beans, low fat dairy, and vegtables. Alot of oatmeal, whole grains and water. Flaxseed meal, and a bit of fish or turkey breast. I eat every 2-3 hours...a small meal 3 times a day and a healthy snack 3 times a day. I've lost over 100 lbs. and I just try to make the best choices I can and try to cook as much as I can myself and stay away from the processed crap. teepi
actually, low carb breads aren't THAT low carb, they're just higher in insoluble fiber, which people need more of anyway.
I get stupid when I don't eat chicken. I start forgetting stuff and I'm real cranky. People need to eat chicken 'cause veggie people are always cranky and it sucks without a meat. The Low Carb Thing (I bet you thought I forgot what the subject was haha. People need carbs for energy (you don't want to pass out during sex now do you?) People need carbs to flush their systems. We will need lots of laxitives and the scope thing to plunge the leftover meat and crap out of our bodies. (Did you know that a bear does something with grass that helps plug the food in so he doesn't have to go when he's asleep for the winter.) (all I had for breakfast was two cream sodas so now you know what could happen so eat meaT and bread!!!
Over-all, I just don't really give a shit about any of it. However, the fact that Dr. Atkins died over-weight is funny.
well, that's kinda misinformation, man. he was born with a congenital heart defect that was worsened after he slipped on some ice and ended up in the hospital with a brain injury. add to that the natural fluid retention from the treaments and you've got a very unhealthy person.
When I fall in endless sleep I hope that I'll be buried deep Let me be the one that fortune favours Even good children got shallow graves Throw another clown to the lions Throw another Joan on the blaze Cast me away on the cruel calm ocean And leave me for days and days and days and days and days I won't lie in this poor shallow grave I won't lie, I won't lie in this poor shallow grave Dig me down deep where the dead men sleep I won't lie in this poor shallow grave Bless the poor 'cos like the rich They all end up in a ditch In this world of fools and knaves Even good children got shallow graves The tinker, the tailor, the fabulous five Nobody gets out of this alive Throw another clown to the lions Throw another Joan on the blaze Cast me away on the cruel calm ocean And leave me for days and days and days and days and days I won't lie in this poor shallow grave I won't lie, I won't lie in this poor shallow grave Dig me down deep where the dead men sleep I won't lie in this poor shallow grave Dig me down deep where the dead men sleep I won't lie in this poor shallow grave Dig me down, dig me down, dig me down deep I won't lie in this poor shallow grave
ah, nice. i used to adore elvis costello, though not enough to memorize his songs. i guess that means i didn't really adore him...
well, i didn't actually think you had, that would take more time to type than it took for you to respond. rather, i was referring to my not knowing the song.
right, matt. you stole the words outta both mine and dan's mouths. we get sooo sick of it and have spoken those words so many times... and kc, the ONLY validity to the low carb diet is to cut out BAD CARBS. there bad carbs and good carbs.... bad carbs are like white bread, french fries, too many potatoes, chips, junk, etc.. GOOD CARBS are needed and include whole grains... a sensible, BALANCED diet (with excercise)- is the only healthy way to lose weight and be healthy.
AAWWW MAN, You're right!!!!!!! *throws bagel and runs out of the house, where she trips over the family pig*... *dog picks up bagel and eats it, then has to be put to sleep 'cause it got too fat*
I never heard of that low-carb thing actually, until I went to America. I was amazed by the amount of diet stuff there... I don't like that. To me, the best to do if you wanna lose weight is to stop eating fattening food, not to eat "low-carb" or whatever fattening food.
