Wow. Maybe that's what's prolonging it. It definitely originated from the ketchup though. Btw, pickle juice worked pretty well.

Yeah, I heard gaviscon can work pretty well. I'll have to try it when my mom will pay for it.

What are you a doctor? Did you have them sitting around?

Allow your body to heal itself. There are times when you should take antibiotics. You body is well designed to fight infections. At your age allow your body to fight-you'll be stonger in the end.

If a doctor prescribed them then maybe-but too many people run to their doctor to get antibiotics when they are sick-the doctor should send them home without a prescription becuase most of the time they don't need it. The doctor knows it. He just doesn't want to lose a patient. It's not bad for him to prescribe it-it's just better most of the time if he doesn't.

See what's up in a few days once the antibiotics have gotten out of your system. Drink some alchohol-that kills most antibiotics. If you still have heartburn problems in a week you have 2 options-

1-Take medicine that in general you probably shouldn't be taking. Don't need. And in the end isn't the best thing for your body,

    2-Eat better.

I was prescribed them by my oral surgeon maybe two months ago. I then got prescribed another antibiotic because a long story about the first.

I haven't been able to visit my surgeon since to see if anything really is wrong since she's in colorado(but I will with in a week), and I've been vaping so I wanted to be on the safe side and take the extra antibiotics I had (5 weeks later).

Having not dealt with heartburn very much all I'm qualified to do here is offer sympathetic support- I would caution you about overusing antibiotics... a good friend was prescribed a number of courses of them to battle a series of minor infections and ended up ridding his digestive system of the beneficial bacteria needed to properly digest foods- the symptoms which were misdiagnosed resulting in a completely unnecessary removal of his gall bladder. He now follows a very restrictive diet as this experienced, which came very close to killing him, has resulted in multiple food intolerances which he will most likely "enjoy" for the rest of his life. Medicine is a for profit business which appears to take priority over actual patient care from what I've seen, experienced and read.

We have this thing here called eno. You mix it up, it fizzes, you drink it and then you exhale a burp, thinking you're just gonna cop more heartburn and Wolla. Instant cure.
I here baking soda does the same thing. Try 10ml of baking soda and half a glass of water. Stir and drink.

    yeah do this

it'll help balance out all the pickle juice and cider vinegar you shouldn't have drank... why would you want more acid in your gut if you have heartburn?

just make sure you're near a toilet... remember that middle school science experiment when we all made a volcano?

If it continues and over-the-counter remedies aren't very helpful, you should see a doctor. I had terrible heartburn for years which I eventually found was caused by a hiatus hernia and an ulcer. Either, on its own, can cause serious heartburn. Both are treatable.

Ease off on coffee, smoking cigarettes, chocolate and any other foods you know give you grief. That can help too.

Hope you feel better soon. I know how rough it can be.

I just smoked weed for my first time in a while. Not vaped, but smoked. So it put me in a really high place. I spent about 15 minutes staring in the mirror, standing up, sitting on the sink counter. Then I noticed I hadn't felt any heartburn. And I was like nah, it probably just stopped for a second. Then I played some dubstep and danced and did all these weird jumping around stuff just having fun and didn't have any pain. It's rather odd. I felt a smidgen of it a few minutes ago but it'd seemed like I was like "no" and it went away. Ha, I'm glad I'm feeling better.

I don't know. I mean, it's a burning pain in my chest. What happens when the gall bladder acts up?

    i have BAD chronic heartburn..

i get it all day pretty much, and every day.

fortunately, Prilosec does the trick. prevents heartburn entirely after you've been taking it for 3-5 days or so. one pill, once a day is strong enough to get rid of my severe heartburn 100% and i dont have to worry about what the fuck i eat.

you can get prilosec at any drugstore. like i said, its not something you take for immediate relief if you have heartburn (takes 3-5 days to become fully effective). but if you have chronic heartburn, it works wonders. its not too expensive either, i just got a box of 42, which is enough for 42 days for just shy of 30$.

I've had chronic heartburn, otherwise known as acid reflux, for years, probably caused by a lazy valve, the one at the bottom end of the esophagus, before the stomach, that is suppose to keep liquids, including stomach acid, from returning up the esophagus from the stomach.

I remember taking Tums (an chewable antacid made of Calcium) for years, starting way back when I was a kid. Mostly it started to bother me when I went to college. I probably was eating foods that caused an overacidity condition. I took Tums off and on for years, until it got to where I was taking a few extra-strength Tums tablets throughout the night. This became a nuisance, since I would frequently wake up with a chalky taste in my mouth. Also, I've had kidney stones now, a couple of times, and those could have been caused by too many Tums.

I remember one especially bad episode, where I woke up just after going to sleep for a while with this really bad heartburn, from burping up some of the corndogs I ate before bed. Corndogs before bed were a very bad idea. I couldn't breathe, the acid was so strong in my esophagus. I thought it could be a heart attack, and went to the Emergency Room. They gave me a cup of some liquid Maalox, and the feeling subsided.

I decided to see a doctor, and he prescribed me Tagmet (I forget the chemical name), and it worked to reduce the acid in my stomach. I took it twice a day, once in the morning, once before bed. I did that until I was prescribed a medicine that interacted with Tagmet, so I switched to Zantac, otherwise known as Ranitidine. Target and Costco sell this fairly cheaply (the store brand, sold as Ranitidine, or "acid reducer"), and it works for me. I don't even take it every day, but when I have an acidic episode, I take it and it works within an hour or so, maybe quicker.

If I know I'm going to be eating or drinking something that can bring on acid reflux, I take a pill beforehand.

As has been said, in a pinch, the baking soda method also works. I use a heaping teaspoon stirred into a glass of water, down the whole thing, and you burp a few minutes later, and it's over for now. But I don't think it's a good idea to use baking soda consistently.

Some things that you would imagine wouldn't work, because they "sound" acidic, actually work to reduce the general acidicity of your system. I think oranges and lemons are on this list.

I do know that milk, though it temporarily coats the esophagus, actually increases the acidity of the stomach. If you drink milk, use non-fat or low-fat. Yogurt is a good thing to be eating when you are taking antibiotics, to help replenish the beneficial bacteria in your system.

If you have a tendency toward acid reflux, remember the foods that can increase stomach acidity: nuts, milk products, fish, fried foods, cold cuts, sausage, bacon, fatty meat, chicken fat/skin, tomato sauces, chocolate, coffee, alcohol, carbonated drinks. Avoid all of these.

There are a lot of websites that list the foods that can bring on acid reflux, and the ones that help lessen it. Just google "foods that help acid reflux", or something similar.

Mix a little bit of baking soda with water and add some kind of non-acidic flavoring to it.

one more thing I forgot to mention,,

avoid drinking or eating right before going to bed.

if you DO drink something before bed, lying on your left side will lessen the possibility of getting acid reflux.

gall bladder....a nasty pain on the right side about the level of your lowest rib:

    http://www.gallbladderattack.com/

when i had reflux, the pain was in the center of my chest, right under the chest bone (sternum).

if you ever have gall bladder attack, you won't ever wonder what it's like again. i thought i had busted a rib, but knew i hadn't done anything recent to make that happen....nearly passed out. cold sweat, laid down in the floor. had to change my diet...a friend had it really bad, and they finally found she had an ulcer...they changed her diet, and both pains got much less.

i think either you do the research, or you have someone educated do the research to determine what's going on. there could be something serious in this, but...there is no way to know unless you systematically go through your symptoms and rule out anything that doesn't make sense. this is what a good doc would do. this is my personal opinion, based on my experience...you care more about your own ass than some docs...so, if you intelligently and systematically run down each symptom, you can isolate the most likely causes down to a few. then, decide if you are going to follow recommendations, or go to the doc, or????

use 'the real' scientific method, and don't let whatever pain you have affect your choices.
