Good to hear sucess stories about Suboxone. Reverifies my reasons for wanting to get on the program as well.

I havn't touched any opiods besides my subs since december and i pay 15 per visit to specialist and 5 bucks for my script of subs. MUCH MUCH cheaper than my habit of 500 a week or so.

I can't help but feel somewhat responsible for promoting Suboxone on this site! But I am happy about it. I try to spread the word about this amazing pharmaceutical to anyone who wants to listen! I got into a long talk with my Sub doc today about how in like 5 years it is going to EXPLODE on the market for uses other than just opioid detox. Like my use of it for treatment-resistant depression, he said that there are all sorts of other things he uses it off-label for successfully. I think it is great, personally!

But, I still advise you to get on Magnesium or Agmatine from the beginning so that you NEVER have to worry about tolerance buildup.

Sorry to continue preaching the old Suboxone+Magnesium/Agmatine crap, but I really feel as though many people can benefit from it.

Has anyone felt that its just giving up one habbit for another? Im not saying that is the case I just wonder if the withdrawls are as bad when you try to come off the subs? I really would like to give it a try because Opiates were alot of fun at first but now its just not so much fun it seems-

Yes, of course it is, I have no delusions about that at all.
However, this habit doesn't cause me to lie about everything, or steal / run out of money, and sit in a car parked illegally all over the city while waiting for dealers to come outside and overcharge me.
My family knows I'm on suboxone and I only have to go pick it up once a month :p

That's exactly how I felt word for word before I quit. I would get my script, say "This month I'm going to make them last!", then after 20 days I'm out. After being prescribed them and taking them daily for years I got to the point where I was taking more mg's than my doc was likely willing to prescribe comfortably. I was just sick of it really, after so long they really didn't help much for fractured vertabrae, I really was the addict cliche of taking the drugs to not be sick and that's it. With that being said, I'm actually glad I didn't take the Sub route, then I would be dependant on those and after taking that much a day (200+mg of oxy ER, 50+ IR)I feel like I deserved to put myself through the withdrawals. Even though I was taking them legally, I felt as if I was mostly to blame for my tolerance increase. I went hardcore and Cold Turkey'd it. I was very honest wth my doctor, and we've tried numerous other things. I've been taking a few different muscle relaxers and a 10 gallon bucket of Ibuprofen a day, don't get too much pain relief but I'm glad I'm not shitting and puking like crazy 5-6 days every month.

Honestly EGGO, I was skeptical about the Sub route because my main concern was the mental withdrawals that last for months and months. Doing subs properly, on a program, supposedly helps alot with those cravings. We will see, I only started today, LOL. But i had successfully quit opiates cold turkey for about a month and a half and was doing pretty good until I got a kidney stone. I started all over again and thats been about 4 months ago. I just got tired of the pills just like PC explained and knew it was time to do something else. Subs seemed logical to me, like i said, we will see.....

I've said it before, I wish you the best of luck from the bottom of my heart BottleFED. You helped me so much a couple months back with your advice and encouragement. I'm more than happy to listen and share my experiences with you or anyone else trying to get clean, I'm still a recovering addict and like hearing from others like myself who are trying to get clean or stay clean. About the Subs, they help so many people get clean. It, as many people have put it, can be a miracle drug. I hope I didn't come across as some hardass in my last post who thinks you should just handle your withdrawals like a man, I didn't mean it that way and I know all to well how hard it can be. I really didn't go cold turkey completely persay, I did take benzos, clonidine, and Immodium. After all, anything that will help you get off the opiates with less or no withdrawals are worth trying/doing (Unless you're using some other bad ass addictive drugs like coke or booze, I suppose the benzos are that, I did stop taking them after I was able to sleep again).

Please keep us updated about your story, BottleFED. It would be fun to have another person on the Suboxone side here! All of you Opana people have me outnumbered haha!

No worries EGGO, Your good in my book brother. Im a firm believer in the fact that we all need each other when attempting to rid oneself of opiate addiction and dependancy. Support is as vital as the Subs themselves, it just wont work without both. I actually hit full withdrawals even with the 10mg Vics he gave me to ease into it. I told him i didnt need them but he insisted, so im like, Dr, you insist I take opiates to ease into withdrawals, I find no reason why I cant follow your directions, LOL.
