the mental stimulation. the flow of thoughts. the things i dont see soberly.

and im not one to follow the 'you should learn to do it sober' route caus i think thats a pride thing.

i am a creative person. marijuana lets me unleash it asa flow.
and i think a lot, as many of you do. normally i can think about things. but my mind is still more focussed on whats going on. the sober mind isnt evolved for creating thoughts, its evolved for observing truths in the environment, moreso. i cant really do maths if im baked. though it sometiems helps to smoke a little bit to open up lateral thinking.

just.. stimulating... in so many ways. when im sober for a while, i see what people like in it. like when people go 'i quit and realised how good it was to be sober'. but its not for me. soberness just needs to be the anchor, not the ship. if you get what i mean.

You say a true friend is someone who always wants to help their friends. Just because one uses drugs does not mean that they do not want to help their friend in a given situation. Sure drug use distorts one’s perspective on reality, however is it always for the worse? A lot of concepts distort one’s perspective of reality, any emotion one feels is in itself a distortment of reality. The people who use drugs to escape their lives are the people who fall out of balance. They put an order to their lives, for instance drugs, friends, family, education, work ,etc. If one is too focused on one area, one looses touch with all the others. In order to survive and live at peace, one has to remain focused on everything equally.

Your emotions do not become useless, as you still feel, but you feel from a different perspective. Human beings are selfish with or without drugs. In order to be at peace with life one must overcome that selfishness of human nature. Think about it…two little kids fighting in the playground yard. “that’s my toy!.” "no, its my toy." For any relationship to work, of course communication is essential. Drugs can turn off communication, however they do not always have to. In the situation you gave, if you smoke a bowl instead of talking to your friend about the problem you are doing nothing to solve the problem, but rather temporarily escaping it. Using drugs to escape from life is considered misuse. People use drugs for many reasons, if they misuse them or abuse them, what goes around eventually comes around. People who misuse drugs should be the ones who take the sober approach to life. Think about this situation, most stores generally offer replacement plans on certain merchandise. The replacement plan is valid if an item is used properly. Most plans do not cover misuse or abuse of the merchandise. The end result is that if an item was misused, like a radio falling out the window and being run over by a lawnmower the store warranty would not apply. The end result is that the person would not get their radio replaced.

I agree with StonerBill, on a personal ground weed acts as an emotion amplifier. I generally do not like to smoke when I am feeling down because then I know I will end up feeling worse. People have two choices in life, to live life to the fullest potential by enjoying living and being alive or counting down life waiting for the day that it ends.

When it comes to marijuana, looking at life from a middle path is definitely the path that can allow one two look at life at the two different extremes. Being either stoned or sober all the time begins to loose effect after awhile. If one is stoned all the time one misses out on being sober and when one is sober one misses out on being stoned.

    Going by your dictionary definition
Based on that definition, people take a lot of chemical substances which effect their behavior, food and medicine. Keep in mind, the way human beings acts is a result of many chemical reactions. A lot of the chemical reactions are encouraged. People are encouraged to eat food and take medications which they need in order to survive. Just because something is a behavior change, that does not mean that it is always for the worst. After reading that over, I realized that this can be taken several ways. I do not disagree with the fact that drugs and food are two separate chemical substances. One needs food to survive, however one does not need drugs to survive, (unless one is talking about medication, but that is a whole other discussion.)

Every situation has pros and cons. One has to look at both before deciding which path in life to take. To me there is a time and a place to be either sober or high. Certain situations are better for being sober while others are better off for being high.

thats dumb. people who get high to be happy are morons and shouldnt be allowed to do drugs just because they are doing themselves more harm than good.
