In the US cracker started as something to call Slave owners and overseers on plantations because of... cracking the whip. It’s derogatory, but racist? I think it’d be hard to make that case considering the origin. Plus white folks in America don’t really need to worry about racism in that respect. I got called honky and I was more bemused than anything. Certainly not offended.

  6. We have biscuits in oz called crackers:grin:

And what I read in the urban dictionary is that the term "cracker" goes back even before slavery, and refers to poor farmers. And like you, Mac, ive never heard anyone white ever get offended when being called a "cracker" or "honky". That shit sounds funny to me.

Yeah I just made a face like, “Really guy? You’re going there?” I definitely didn’t feel it was my duty as a white guy to even acknowledge it.

Haha honky is a funny word. Like we even have “honky tonks” in New Jersey. At some point I had to look up what it even meant. Just doesn’t carry any weight.

Speaking of crackers reminded me of ads I have seen lately for Arnotts new range of chocolate blocks

Some sound yummy, ginger nut cookie pieces in chocolate, iced volvo biscuits

But they also have a Jatz one?, normal salt cracker type cracker pieces in a chocolate bar. I was like WTF? who is going to buy that? Who thought that up?

    It made me mad

I like to use words like honky, cracker and whitey myself to adress our fellow caucasians who are less fortunate about these insights :-D But I also reserve the right to call any human (especially kids) a monkey. I assure you race or ethnicity doesn't play any role here :)
And yes, when someone tries to get at me with such a term i also am primarily amused.

    1) We're losing our hard earned prime position in our society thanks to this equality stuff.
    2) The purity of our race is under threat by intermingling with other kinds of people
    3) Our (supreme) cultural heritage is altered to please overly PC social justice warriors :rage:
Do I need to go on?!?

    Dire times indeed... :-D
