Jesus was correct when He said the kingdom of God cometh not with observation, for you see, the kingdom of God is not a place it is God's reign.
Yet when Jesus returns, every eye will see Him. I have God's kingdom in side of me, because I invited Him into my life at the age of eleven. Yet I still look for Christ return, and according to the Scriptures, when the Jew is returning to their land of Israel and have retaken Jerusalem, Christ return will be near.

Enlightenment will not cover your sin, only the blood of Christ can do that. And if you turn your back on God's gift of salvation, you will be lost for eternity. The Bible tells us of the past and of the future, and it does this accurately. The Bible has not lied to you, and it is telling you the truth now. For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

Flattery will get you nowhere. Try staying on topic by correcting your errors and misstatements. How about a little credibility for the heathens you try so hard to save?

Must be your hatred that your speaking of, Ik. You have no idea what kind of feelings I have or am having. And since you have no idea where feelings come from outside of your own experience of them then the feelings of hatred you describe are more likely your feelings.

Like I said before, you don't experience the world with my senses, therefore you can't claim to "KNOW" my feelings. You can only speculate based on your own feelings. If you feel hatred, then you can speculate everyone else must be experiencing and feeling hatred.

Seems to me, and this is just appearances based on observation, that you're the one exhibiting "seething hatred." You see "seething hatred" so you must be experiencing it. Though, I don't claim to "KNOW" how you feel because I dont see, hear, smell, taste, feel, or think with your eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body or mind. I can only speculate based on your actions and reactions.

DarrelK.. What do you think about Evangelicals being credited with putting Bush and Cheney into the WhiteHouse for 8 years.
Some say they will be the force that puts in another Republican conservative.

How does that make you feel towards Christianity right now?

Better yet, describe how much you hate me right now?

I have no feelings regarding Christianity.

I don't hate or have feelings of hatred or ill-will regarding you, Ik. You, however, have much hatred for yourself to be projecting the idea of hatred onto me regarding how you appear to me.

I don't have any feelings of hatred or ill-will regarding anyone or anything.

And you can't claim that I do unless you can directly experience the world with my six senses, which you don't because you are not me, and to claim to know how I feel would be to claim to be me because you would be claiming to have my eyes, to have my ears, to have my nose, to have my tongue, to have my body, to have my mind.

Yet, you do have your own six senses, and it's with these senses of yours that you directly experience the world, and if there's any experience of hatred, that experience is yours, no one else's. When experiencing these feelings you can assume or project these feelings onto someone else and claim they feel the same way, but you don't really know ... you are not them.

This is why I don't respond to this person anymore. He makes & takes everything PERSONAL. Plus he just doesn't get it when you explain it to him, and asks more questions that indicate he didn't understand what you already said. Give up on him.

Maybe it's just me, but ths thread seems to have become a big "Buddhists VS. Christians" debate. I definitely don't profess to be an expert on either buddhism or christianity, but I'm pretty sure both religions have at least one similar teaching.

    Love one another.

Leviticus 19:18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself:

"Full of love for all things in the world; practicing virtue in order to benefit others, this man alone is happy."

Ca't we at the very least, agree that neither religion condones one person judging another? Well, probably not. Anyway, here's my 2 cents on the Original Topic.

Couldn't they compare DNA tests from the bones to the shroud of turin? Not sure if they've done DNA testing on The shroud of Turin, bt if so, this seems like a viable option. Also, if this is proven to be the body of Jesus Christ, isn't it possible that when the Bible said that Jesus ascended to heaven, it was his spirit and not his body? Even spirits can be seen and felt by some people. Feel free to disagree with me, these are just my thought on the issue. Unfortunately I didn't get to watch the documentary, so I'm sorry if I'm bringing up issues that were already addessed on the show.

    It's probably just you.

No big problem there to speak of ...

There was, according to the documentary, DNA testing done on the bones of the one labled Jesus son of Joseph, and the one labeled Mariamne (or Mary of Magdelene) to determine they were not related. But no DNA testing was done on the the other bones to determine if it really was Jesus's mother and brothers. Which would also have proved if Joseph was the paternal father of Jesus's brothers. It's probably doubtful that if Jesus was born of a virgin, not as a result of sexual relations between Joseph and Mary, that any DNA testing from Jesus and Joseph would prove paternal relationships between the two. But since Jesus was born of Mary, and his brothers from the same mother, her DNA would also be found in both of them and Joseph's DNA would be found in the brothers.

Also the one claiming to be Jesus' and Mariamne's son would have the DNA of both Jesus and Mariamne.

My idea, and this is just something I pulled out of my own imaginations, is that they did do DNA testing on all of them and were forbidden to both broadcast and discuss the results. But since that is just my own imaginations it is hardly worth discussion.

Rendering a satisfactory answer is neither satisfying nor encouraging. Your lack of response simply displays the stubbornness typical among your ilk. I take no pleasure in directing you to the truth behind your misstatements.

I am however sorry if I've made you regret anything. I certainly don't.

Having just finished watching James Cameron's documentary, I am impressed. First, I was skeptical that there was any chance this tomb was Jesus' family tomb. Now, I admit that as far as statistical probability goes, the odds are that it is indeed exactly that. Without regurgitating too much, I will recount two salient points made. First, one ossuary went missing when the tomb was opened in 1980, but its dimensions were recorded before it went missing. The infamous James ossuary was purchased around 1980, and when its patina was analyzed with an electron microscope, it matched the other ossuaries in the tomb. Also, its dimensions matched the missing ossuary's. Also, its inscription, 'James, son of Joseph, brother of Jesus', is a match.
Second, a professor of mathematics and statistics is quoted stating that if the James ossuary did prove to match the others, and was part of that tomb, the fact that its names fit in with the set of names on the others, increased the evidentiary match with the names from the bible. Instead of the odds it is not Jesus' family tomb are then changed from being 600 to 1 that it is not, to 30 000 to 1. In his words, it becomes a 'slam dunk'.
    I enjoyed the documentary, anyway.

Thank you for proving my point, Buddhism has nothing you can point to that one could say only God could of known that. KARMA CRYSTALIZES, yeah, I can really sink my teeth into that. Slam dunk there, this really proves Buddhism. Yeah the Bible has three hundred prophecies just on Christ first coming, and I'm going to toss that because you say KARMA CRYSTALIZES. I never smoked dope, but that's the only way I would become a Buddhist.
When the Bible is filled with solid prophecies you ignore all of that, and then talk about your spirit living on in bardos. WOW.

Skip like I said before, there is only one person I follow, and that person is Jesus Christ.

Just out of curiosity, do you happen to have a list of these "300 prophecies" you talk about so much? I have neither the time nor inclination to look them up myself.

I have absolutely no interest in any sort of organized religion, but that's beside the point...

I think you may have accidentally mispoken, a statistical study concluded that the probability factor is 600 to 1 in favor of this tomb being that of Jesus of Nazareth and his family.

While there's little doubt as to the divinity of Christ, he was in many ways like all other men in his desire for a family including a wife and child. That alone should only bolster his Image [IMG]

Quite clearly god intended people to use pot. It is an herb and bears seed. So important is it, that its in the first section of the bible.

In Genesis 1:29 "And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat."

Maybe god put pot on Earth for a divine purpose.

You're absolutly correct, in every ancient culture throughout the known world, spiritual leaders have used some form of hallucinogen to control the masses and to heighten the religious experience.
