what makes me smile about this thread is that the worst song ever can actually be the best song ever !
i know that's the general theory behind them, but i've done plenty of drugs in my youth and i think pink floyd was the only thing that could consistently ruin a good high.
during my glory days of drug use, it was mostly a combination of classic rock, punk rock, and a little alternative, metal, industrial, etc. maybe throw in a little trip hop, while tripping. it's hard to be too specific because i like and always have liked music from pretty much every genre, even more so when high. i've just never been able to listen to pink floyd.
I Realise This Is Going End /// This Thread But I Just Can't Resist.......Years Ago Here In OZ It Was Voted "Worst Song Ever">>>> "Shaddap You Face"------ Joe Dolce-----Released 1981.... Cheers Glen.
Pink Floyd is too pessimistic. It's so dreary. For a while I thought they were created by MI6 or something to brainwash people. Also, when you think about it...think about the melody to Brick In the Wall for instance...duh duh dah duh...duh duh dah duh... What is that, like two notes? Did a baby write that song?
It fits perfectly within the the context of the album where the children are voicing their frustration with education. The song Money is quite fascinating for a single with a transition of 4/4 to a complex time signature of 7/4 which was essentially unheard of at the time.
Money's a pretty good song. Don't tell me about their epic rock operas, though...that kind of self-indulgence runs contrary to being not the worst. (Disturbed *cough*cough* Disturbed)
