It's annoying that bands who are annoying can make great music. I'm sorry but "We Built This City" is the grooviest song If you're an 80's child that is. Some songs, you just have to turn the radio up!
They aren't. IT 's dumbfucks like you that think they are, and go around telling everyone that they are, and make everyone think that they are. Please go french kiss a shotgun.
For Christ's sake. Neither of those band's are emo. I'm sick of you people. You wouldn't know emo if it took a shit on your face.
U2 the clash slayer slipknot destinys child mariah carrey yellowcard 3 doors down moremormomore bands suck nowadays ha
Who gives a fuck, all those bands suck, and emo bands suck too. Lets just all put them in the FUCKING SUCK category instead of calling them emo or punk
kids these days, no respect I tells ya But seriously U2 and the Clash are, IMO, two of the few reasons music retained some degree of decency through the 80s. It amazes me how many times Pink Floyd has made it's way into this thread, you folks are daft if you can't apreciate floyd. I think I even read Zeppelin a couple of times, WTF? As for the EMO argument? I think any music which is intended to compliment, or derives from a lifestyle fad and has little substance beyond that is trite and is nothing more than a breeding ground for redundency. It may apeal to you now but in 10 years you'll all look back and say "WTF was I thinking?"...and then 20 years from now a bunch of uber-cool shmucks will turn it into 'the new retro' Good music is timeless music, it can't be fit into narrow terms of definition, it's beyond image and almost always beyond comparrison. Like right now for example, I'm listening to Bruce Cockburn, his early stuff, but damned if I could say it sounds like it's from the 70's, it could have been made last week for all I know. Damned if I could tell you how he dressed back then, but it sure as hell don't matter. What I can tell you is I'm connecting with the music, and that's all it's about, the plain simple truth of the music. Substance over image, musicians over performers. That being said I'm guessing you can figure out for yourself what I would deem 'the worst bands ever'
That was very well put. I try to stay very open minded with music. I believe that there are creative and wonderful minds in all genres. That being said, I don't especially like emo music either. I'm sure there might be some good bands out there that like to label themselves "emo", but I haven't heard any.
I still say that Nickelback and theory of a deadman are the absolute worst, beyond any shadow of a doubt
I concur: Let me add a few more annoying mother fuckers: Coldplay James Blunt (aka James Kunt) Peter Murray
I'd be hard pressed to disagree about Nickelback -- they totally suck. The first I heard that song about "i like the way you smack me on my ass" I really thought it was a joke song or something. It sounded like Adam Sandler doing a skit. I also hate me some Matchbox 20.
When someone cites The Clash as one of the worst bands of all time, I immediately realize how hopeless this thread is. All of the bands I've seen listed here have at least something going for them. What it's really degenerated into is "what band annoys me the most" or "what band doesn't deserve the fame they've gathered, the most" Personally I'd go with some manufactured boy band in which no one in the group plays an instrument and the members do not even write their own song. Take your pick, there have been many.
ANY country music (except Johnny Cash) ALL Disco ALL RAP ALL EMO ALL Grunge Any and all boy or girl bands Except the Runaways and Joan Jett Any of the current so called female singers Like Britney/Lindsey,etc. 99% of anything from the 80's and 90's except maybe Green day. I think I about covered it.
