Don't knock tool just because you're too naive to get it. They rock, and not just in the "woo hoo" sense. Take some time, listen to the music AND the lyrics. They're smarter than you (and me, for that matter).

Enjoy your own music, but please, don't rot your head on crap.

I take it you never heard of Biohazzard. Jeeze they suck. I first heard them, i was like "cool, metal" then the lead dude opened his mouth and it was all rap. Then I was like "Shit there goes metal down the tubes." Next thing i knew they had a video with the rap group Onyx and then "headbangers ball" was cancelled. I blame Aerosmith and Run DMC for invinting the rap-rock bull shit.

As for old school metal.... Grim Reaper sucked shit. Fat dude in coveralls prancing around with frizzy Sammy Hagar hair screeching "SEE YOU IN HEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!"

 

I think some of it is pretty good
some of the Linkin park stuff is good (Faint <3), Crazytown is good, Saliva, some MSI has rap and metal elements mixed well, I think MC Lars' form of rap is ideal
instead of putting it on a shitty beat, put it over actual music

Nickelback. They just annoy the hell out of me because the guy has an annoying voice and all of their songs sound the same.

 

midline...i think that was their name at least. a band in boise i saw before a no quarter(led zeppelin tribute band) show. twice actually...the first night they played for 2 hours and no quarter ended up not playing cause the singer was sick. so they played again at the real show...man they sucked to much...with lines like "i like to get drunk, cause it makes me feel good!! YA!! il ike to feel numb!!!" and the most shitty sounding guitar lines...dear god ...even nickelback are better then them. but luckily not many of you will ever have to hear of them, and if you get the opportunity to do it, dont

 

Pearl Jam, AFI, The Darkness, The Killers, and Modest Mouse always seem to piss me off. So I'll say them.

I'd put Warren De Martini up against any other metal guitarist from that era.Warren is amazing,whether you like their music or not,you gotta tip your hat to this guy!

I got a free ticket to see them live back in the 80's. They sucked live beyond comprehension.
