If you think someone has to be directly affected for them to say they've been affected, then that is your problem, not mine. I don't think there should be a requirement. The leader of a country should not be asking for a war that is unneccessary.

As for things being ratified by the Senate, we all know that if it doesn't go according to plan and the president doesn't get what he wants, he can continue to ask for it until he gets what he wants. It's not a once and done thing.

Be a Bush lover, but at least a have a legitimate reason for attacking those who don't support them, other than the fact that you personally don't think he's done anything to affect you. Everything effects a person in some way, shape or form whether you realize it or not, whether you accept it or not.

 

Since when do I have to agree with everyone and feel that the president is doing a good job? lol, no sorry, I do not think that person has to be directly affected by something for them to have an opinion on it. In fact, I'm sure you have opinions on many things although you have not directly been affected by it or have not actually done the thing yourself. It's hypocritical to demand that I be directly affected before I decide to like or dislike what the leader does in the country I live in.

Get over yourselves...if you like Bush, good for you, if you don't good for you. But get over the fact that i dont' and I feel that he has done a poor job while in office. Being threatened by opinions unlike your own is not a good trait to possess.

 

Anyone who travels outside the US, or buys anything made elsewhere with dollars, is directly effected by this administration's policies.

Sorry if this is off topic, i didnt read ahead in the post...

The political process doesnt start and end with the presidential election. You can get involved well before the election by attending local caucuses. You dont need to be registered to vote (at least not in Minnesota) to attend, and you get to do preliminary voting on who you would like to recieve the party's presidential nomination.

If you feel you are not properly represented, perhaps you should look deeper into the entire political process, and what the individual can do to (hopefully) make a difference.

To bad voting is worthless. Every election we have is just a waste of time. The government basically picks the president. So the power is not in our hands. If you go to the "is voting worthless?" thread, you'll see how everything is set up and that our vote means absolutley nothing.

If our own president can allow towers to fall and allow "terrorists" attacks to happen, then we should be able to unleash a fury of demeaning things towards our president. Whatever happened to this, if the Public isnt happy with a president its OUR choice to choose over a new one. Dont say the USA suck, say the government sucks. This is the greastest country in the world, and the simple fact that we have the right to go on this website and complain about the pres. proves that. it people like you tht makes the rest of the world hate us for being unappreative of the wonderful things we have in this country, freedom of speech, democracy, the right to vote, the right to petition the Govt. and much more. Don;t get me wrong this doesnt mean i agree the current administration or like Pres. Bush. I do not, but dont say that the USA sucks, say the government sucks. The USA is the greatest Country in the world to live in.

 

I agree with the original poster, but also think he should have said the American Government sucks. I love that we can feed most of our families, I love that we can speak are minds and that even though our peers might ridicule us the country will have no charge against us. I hate that The Government lies to us, I hate that it declares pointless wars that only make things work. If a poor man in darfur made it to America and say the government here are liars, but he will never say the country sucks. I'm not waving american flags out of buildings. I'm disappointed with most of the countries recent desicions, but I'm angry with the government of AMerica for that, they are a part of America which, yes, IMO sucks. but their only a part of it

Because half of the stuff that goes on in this country, the government doesn't even tell us about.
I don't beleive the American Government staged 9/11, I think that was a legitimate act of terror, I also beleive that more could have been done to prevent that from happening in the first place.
Also, I don't know about the USA being the greatest place in the world to live, I have a friend who is from Canada, he says that his homeland is much better, I have never been there so I don't know, but he says that people are generally healthier, happier and better educated there. Once again I would like to state that is what he said not me

 

:& America, what a great concept. to bad we all traded our liberty for a feeling of security. Freedom from what? Free to think and act or feel how we want. HARDLY!! Free to suffer the injustice of a corupt government as they see fit is more like it. The irony is, we ARE truly free. In the sense that we have control of our lives and destiny we are!! Only thing is, we don't excersize it!! We don't vote, we don't help our fellow man, we don't care! we only look after ourself and screw everybody else. Only when we realize our fate is in our hands will we rise above the corprate minions called the government and actually do something about our situation.
