I agree. These double standards DO NOT work. And defending such a ban with the argument 'we just enforce the rules consequently' is laughable.

I disagree. And even if I would agree with you here: this is not why im at odds with this ban.

1) I doubt Bagel was given a warning first.

2) Also, other regular forummers are trolling and being more crude to others on here than she was and don't get banned.

I did however see how it went on in Boozers domestic abuse thread, saw Bagels annoyance with Candygal and Boozer (an annoyance that MANY regulars share btw! Just not act upon/give in to) and feel Candygal was disproportionately favored again.

Even if Bagel said something rude, my point still stands: many forummers on here do it far more regular and suffer no consequence.
This is my biggest beef with the rules.
I want sensible modding which includes warnings first, certainly if the standard punishment is a permanent ban right away. And it includes consequential applying. Bagel was not really valued by the admin. Candygal is (she generates traffic i guess). Seems it affected the rigid decision.

 

No, it's not 100% free speech. I agree.

I say i can go along with that (i can abide the forum rules, of which one is banning). So I disagree that on a (relatively) free speech forum like this no one could ever get banned.
But banning should always be the second measure. A warning the first. And if the rules were applied consequently and fair I don't think Bagel would be banned now. She gave in to her annoyance and lack of patience one time and she's gone. How many other people flip like that on here? And don't get banned. Many.

Also, the ONLY way to not get rules or mod decisions discussed in public threads is by adequately explaining and answering questions about them in PM.
