that's what I'm getting at. Doesn't really support the 'agreed' answer Def gave to the question.

The question is rather simplistic so a simple (humorous?) answer is called for. I think both answers are equally good (or bad).

People would have less time to accumulate things which would lessen the impact on the environment.

right. development, i guess, is what i was hoping for. how a bunch of self interested people, with a consideration of others put us here and whether or not we're wrong paradigmatically or whether a tweak here or there is all it'll take. critical vs liberal ultimately.

There is just so much context that is needed. Besides, I think that we would find that our outlooks aren't that different from each other once we recognize more and more of each others worldviews :) Many times people just get into arguments of semantics and we all get lost in that...

Ya, not much agreement in the psychological community... or in any field actually. But there is a lot of truth with both what Freud and Jung have said... their ideas just needs some tweaking.

Through conflict we evolve technologically as a species, but its our inner struggle which allows us to evolve physiologically as children of Darwin

We now have enough technology through weaponry to exterminate ourselves.

Our technological achievements today are like the prattling of little children compared to tomorrows advances [IMG]
