    DEEP BLUE SEA:
The scene that shows as powerful as Samuel L. Jackson is, in his Oration, Command and in Leadership, over confidence can be a downfall that befalls all.

    PLATOON:
The death run of Sgt Elias. Left for dead by the aggressive and slightly psychotic Staff Sgt Barnes, its only desperation that drives him on in the hope that he’d be picked up and rescued– alas, it was a hope forlorn

    HANCOCK:
The scene that shows unless you are an extreme thrill-seeker, you’d best not chance calling Hancock an Ass-hole - (even if you are a minor) - lest you are reap a response that only he can deliver

    GONE WITH THE WIND:
Despite the often common misconception that “Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn” are the final words of the ‘Epic’, the actual last line from 'Scarlett' is a clarion call for all those who feel they have reached their lowest point “Tomorrow, is another day”

I ran across the short story this film was based on a few years ago, "Farewell to the Master", by Harry Bates, 1940.

I really liked it better than the movie.
In it Klaatu, the man, and Gnut, the robot, emerge from the ship and all Klaatu gets to say is "I am Klaatu and this is Gnut". Then he's shot and killed. Gnut is named Gort in the movie.
Gnut, the robot, stands motionless for days and a building is built around him. A reporter discovers that every night Gnut roams around and brings dead animals back into the ship. In the morning he is always found to be motionless again.

So long story short, Gnut is experimenting on the dead animals in an attempt to bring Klaatuu back to life.
He finally has limited success as the reborn Klaatu is imperfect and soon dies.

The reporter sees that Gnut is now going to leave the Earth and he feels compelled to tell him that the death of his master, Klaatu, was an accident.
And this is where the plot twist happens.
Gnut replies, "You misunderstand, I am the master."

    Great ending.

Gosh - In all the years since I saw it as a child, and onward, I didn't realise that (still - one is never too old to learn something new) -
    Thanks for that MeAgain
