I wonder what the pope was up to during world war 2 in Warsaw, I'd like to know
I'm not remotely sad, I don't get sad when people in their 80's that I don't even know die....what makes the pope so special?

Callous? What's callous is media spotlighting one man to sell airtime and perpetuate a diversionary illusion for which the cult of personality has become inherent to our very system. All whilst countless billions remain impoverished, marginalised and exploited to maintain the hegemonic empires which the Catholic Church has always lent moral support for its own place at the table of the powerful.

To feign personal grief for a man who was raised to power within the framework of such an institution is to buy into that illusory mythmaking, just as so many do for presidents, royals or any other supposed mass icon.

Perhaps if people let those passed pass and observed their real obligation to maintain scrutiny on the actions of the living, we wouldnt be faced with criminals - who spout ever more smug and brazen lies safe in the knowledge that the sheep can be easily distracted by protracted emotive spectacles - being promoted from strength to strength whilst they bankrupt our and our children's futures to feather the nests of the elite few.

Cry for that sad fact if you want to demonstrate meaningful and constructive compassion.

He's the freaking pope already, a major historical figure. Its 'callous' to give news coverage to the death of a major historical figure? How far are you from reality? If nothing else, do we really need to be lectured on how to properly demonstrate meaningful and constructive compassion?

If nothing else this thread has not yet been hijacked by the Illuminati brigades. Please just let it be.

Oh please, what did The Pope ever do to you? Give me a break. This is coming from someone who champions a system that has argueably caused the worst genocides in human history.

First of all, I doubt you anything much about Catholicism. It is a common pattern for people to call somthing a cult when they do not know much about it.

I would say prove it, but you can't, since it's not true. What you think really does not matter when it comes to facts that conflict with your line of thinking.

He is to the 1.3 BILLION Catholics on this Earth. If you don't like him, you are welcome to your opinion, but others do care for him.

What totally amazes me is the NONCatholics who have such weird ideas about the Pope and Catholisism. HOW does the Pope effect you, if you aren't Catholic? How does the Catholic Church effect you if you don't belong? Even most Catholics don't let things like the Church's "Stand" on things like abortion, birth control and divorce effect them. WHY would it irritate ANYONE who doesn't even beleive in the faith would get SO UPSET about it?

Imagine a discussion like this which dissed Islam or Sik like this? Totally politcally incorrect, right? (Even though most people know nothing about these faiths either.) But people who are mostly WHOLLY INGNORANT about the Catholic Faith get upset about this?

I don't get this at all. If you aren't Catholic, WHY do you care? It doesn't effect you in any way.

This faith has NO bearing on your life, unless you let it. If you choose not to convert, why get upset?

The guys death is being used and exploited just as sure as episodes of "The Munsters" are being driven into the ground.

Watching the obsessive coverage on television last night with flocks of pilgrims lined up endlessly to view the cadavor I notived some of the pisanes seemed to be making a party of it.

    Morbid curiousity!

To hear of children being brutalized and murdered by cowardly perverts strikes a chord with me!

The guys in heaven for Christ sake. Give it a fuckin' break!

As for Father Gene, if that bastard is in heaven there must not be a hell to deliver scrotom obsessed degenerates such as he!

    Bravo Giovani!

I think you are ignoring a lot of history if you think the catholic church has never influenced the lives of non-catholics.

Point break, John Paul II did apoligise for a lot of the awful things the Church did in past history. I was talking about NOW? What effect does the Catholic Church have, to keep you from doing what you want, or prevent you from dong what you don't want, now?

As for past regressions, yes, horrible. But no more than Islam, or Communism, or Chairman Mao or any other historical figure or organization which once had power.

Which is why you have a Remote channel switcher AND and "off" button on your TV for.

I certainly hope you weren't using the word "piasanos" (as you spelled it wrong) as a slur against Italians...........

    Really?
    Think about it.

In the US, is it only catholic taxpayers' $$$ that pays for catholic kiddo benefits?
Kiddos the parents couldn't financially afford but were encouraged by the church to have?
    Note I didn't say the church's tax $$$ - which doesn't amount to squat/is a totally different subject...

Enough or do you need more current examples?

How bout using a search engine instead of making up conspiracy theories: Here's what he was doing during WWII. So much for the Conspiracy.

I actually have NO IDEA what you are talking about. "Catholic kiddos benefits" what IS that? Do you mean by the edict of the Church not endorsing birth control? The Baptists are just as much against birth control, as are the Muslims, and the Methodists ect. This is REALLY stretching is a LOT. Most of the Catholic Families I know have 1-4 children and take NO goverment benefits. I don't beleive you have any idea what you are ranting about. Really.

My children get no "Catholic Kiiddos Benefits" despite the fact that they were baptised Catholic. Is there somewhere I need to sign them up? LOL!

How about noticing that I was simply asking a question instead of being bitchy?

Actually, Hitler hated Catholics almost as much as he hated the Jews. (He thought everyone should be Lutheran.) My dh, who is a Polish Catholic, has relative who died in Aushwitz. MANY Catholic Poles, especially those who helped the Jews, were taken to Concentration Camps.
