the idea of some people being wiser now than they were when they were younger is a scary thought. biologically speaking the brain is not fully developed as an adolescent and teenager, especially in areas of rationality and judgement. A fully matured person has a better ability to apply past experiences to new events simply due to brain development. does this make an older person wiser than a younger person? Judging by several people I know who are older than me, I would definitely say this is by no means a hard rule.
personally, i get wiser with each passing day. on the other hand, all the older people i know spend so much time pretending computers are magical boxes that randomly do things for no reason that they don't have any time left to do anything else, such as learning stuff.
In 40 years there will be no one around since the Earth will be hit 14 years from now by Asteroid Apophis on Friday April 13, 2029. While most scientists predict the asteroid will appear to the naked eye as a moderately bright point of light moving across the sky and then back out into space, there are some who believe it will impact the earth leading to a devastating dinosaur-like extinction event. I think I was more wise when I was younger...I just followed my intuition. Now I have all these memories of things going wrong that I overthink things...but in general, yes I've grown a lot, learned a lot, I'm a bit less naive about communication and relationships, things of that nature and wiser in some respects, but in others I'm not quite where I was when I was younger. I'm still kinda young though, I keep telling myself that.
