My head's full of mercury fillings too. I try not to worry about it.

I've got one gold one too, bit of a waste as it's right at the back where no-one can see it. My dentist made me decide if I wanted gold or amalgam right in the middle of a root-canal jobbie, when I was lying there with this hollowed-out tooth ...

I do try not to worry, just ive seen some scary stuff with the mercury gas stuff coming off and the like, and videos of how it kills the brain cell thingies and ooh, ok so im not scientific, but i can tell somethings not right:)

Just lately ive been flipping out for no apparent reason, i havent been able to think straight or make decisions and i can barely write and spell anymore:rolleyes: And last night i had a dream about the filling i swallowed when i was 10 and it made me think this morning. No doubt im a stupid paranoid hippy who needs a good walloping

I hate dentists talking to you when your mouths wide open and youre all vulnerable:) Havent been to one for years though and hopefully never will again. Every 6 months? Yeah right

Anyway i know you have a gold filling now even if its at the back...so...oooh!:D

well I didn't go for about 10 years and then I had to have like 100 fillings and one extraction. So it might have been better to go a little more often ...

My teeth are doing great without a dentist:) Much better than they were in childhood...seems they were always drilling away at me and putting things in me and robbing me of my teeth! Obviously id go if a new problem arose, but it hasnt done for about 6 years now, and i dont see the point in these checkups all the time. Like my bunnies...they dont have a dentist and they dont have tooth problems:D Im always on the lookout though:)

Man , i got this new dentist a half year ago, and all the three times i went there
he observed holes in my teeth, while i never got them in years! The third time i got a bit suspisious so i went to the dentist of my sister for a second opinion, and guess what...no holes at all [IMG]!! so he prolly was messing around whith my teeth to make some extra money....the motherfucker [IMG]!!
Ofcourse i changed dentist after that...no holes since then...luckily...

Ain't been in a long while.. not since I was 16!
Only major(ish) dental work I've had done was a couple of caps when I was 9 (on my birthday too!)

Isn't it nice to pin a tail on to someone you love?

Yeah, they do seem to create problems where there arent any. I can remember being 5-6 years old and them taking away a load of my teeth without any pain relief, also having some fillings then...it seems senseless looking back. What on Earth could have been so wrong with my teeth at 5 years old!? I was born with 2 grey-black-looking teeth...something about the enamel...otherwise they were all fine and i wasnt a sweet eater

Silly thing was those fillings came out with the baby teeth. Once my new ones came in they were very quick to get them loaded up with mercury too:rolleyes: I never remember being in any pain with my teeth PRIOR to dentists visits, so was it all really necessary?

There are a few gooduns though and its cool you got a second opinion

Anyway, end of dentistry talk for the sake of the scared!:D

I stripped the old breaks from my bike. I am not sure what the cost will be to get new breaks and a wheel and to get some cycle shop to put these on an old racer bike?

Additional: Anyone notice more of Jamie Oliver on tv? He seems obsessed with chickens. I might buy him a golden hen. Might lay golden eggs. But we can dream.

My brother tried to get me to watch all those programmes over the last few weeks about abattoirs and all that. He didn't seem to understand that I personally didn't want to watch it, not because I don't eat meat, but because I don't really like watching animals being killed.

But I don't mind Jamie Oliver too much, my favourites have to be the Hairy Bikers! There accents alone are brilliant!!

A genuine question from an online survey I'm just filling out at YouGov:

Please think about the most recent time someone close to you died…

    Where did they die?

    At home
In a in hospice/ nursing home
    In a hospital
    Somewhere else
Not applicable – no one close to me has ever died
    Don’t know
    Prefer not to say

How would you say this experience was for them?
    A good experience
    Okay on balance
    A bad experience
Not applicable – no one close to me has ever died
    Don’t know
    Prefer not to say
